Objectives Develop and stabilize a multidisciplinary forum, bringing together the various scientific disciplines, as a space for making an exchange of scientific discoveries between different national research teams and their interaction with other international teams in order to be capable of producing synergies and further development of knowledge. To achieve this main objective, the FF Foundation and the University of the Balearic Islands have developed an online platform “Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain aiming at dissemination of the results of scientific research and technological development achieved in the study of chronic pain and fibromyalgia in recent years. The scientific program consists of the presentations made by prominent scientists from Europe, Israel, the US and Argentina, with proven scientific significance in the field of chronic pain and fibromyalgia, particularly aimed at health professionals and researchers, but also open to patients and the general public, presented in two languages - Spanish and English. The content of this platform was partially developed at the international symposium called Fibrosymposium 2013, IV International Symposium for the Study of Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia, held in Palma de Mallorca on 18-19 July 2013. While there have been several international conferences and meetings organized by different scientific societies and associations dedicated to the study of pain from different perspectives (clinical, animal, treatment, evaluation, etc.), the novelty of this proposal, with respect to other outreach activities in the field of pain, has the following characteristics. 1. It is constituted as a multidisciplinary proposal, beyond the limitations of a single scientific association, addressing, therefore, various neurobiological, psychological, therapeutic and social aspects of the chronic pain and/or fibromyalgia. 2. It is proposed as a remote participation forum which gives the floor to researchers, health professionals, patients and general public. 3. Its structure is designed to reach the most people interested in the topic by means of an online platform (lectures and discussion forums), decreasing the costs of registration and other associated costs. Ultimately, this Online Platform of IV International Symposium for the Study of Chronic Pain and Fibromyalgia has the overall objective to disseminate the latest research findings on chronic pain and fibromyalgia and, in particular, achieves the following specific objectives:

1. Increase the critical mass, through empowerment and knowledge transfer on the issue of chronic pain which affects a significant number of people in our society. 2. Promote and integrate scientific actions at the national and international levels related to social and health problems, such as chronic pain and fibromyalgia, in which actively participate the University community, researchers and health professionals, public and private agencies, and society in general.
