Dear Parents/Carers, This is a reminder about hair styles, piercings and school uniform. A number of girls are wearing very tight trousers, which we do not consider to be appropriate for school. Girls should wear black trousers, which can be fitted but not tight, or a knee length skirt with black opaque tights. If you are unsure about the suitability of your daughter’s trousers; please contact the school. For both boys and girls black shoes, not trainers, are to be worn. Extremes of bright hair colour are not acceptable. This includes dip dye colours where there is a contrast between two colours. Before allowing your child to have their hair dyed, again please contact the school for advice. We understand that children like to follow current trends. However governors have decided our Presentation Policy and they have given me, as Headteacher, the authority to make the final decision as to what is considered to be extreme. Piercings - more than one per ear, nose piercing, etc and ear lobe stretchers are not permitted. Students may have to work in Plas Seren for a time if their uniform, hair or presentation is not suitable. Thank you for your support in this matter. Yours sincerely,

P McClean Headteacher
