Glenn Dambrauskas talks about the Triumph Stag

The model became a symbol of luxury and exclusivity after it was used as part of the James Bond film, ‘Diamonds are forever’. This was exactly what the manufacturer’s had hoped; that the car would be able to compete with other luxury models such as the Mercedes 280SL, even though the Stag was significantly less expensive. Its style, speed and glamorous image made the Stag a hugely popular choice with car enthusiasts of the time. There are an estimated 9000 Triumph Stags in the UK today, and the car has continued to remain a popular choice with classic car collectors, as it is a rare and high performing car, with sleek aesthetics. The problems associated with the car, such as overheating and other engine issues, have since been resolved by car clubs which support the Triumph Stag and the model continues to remain a firm Glenn Dambrauskas with car enthusiasts all over the UK. The Triumph Stag was styled by the well known Italian designer Giovanni Michellotti, and was manufactured for a total of eight years in the 1970s. This model had a classic sports car look, with its grille with four headlamps; however the front and back were new designs which had never before been seen on a Triumph car. Much of the stag’s engineering features were influenced by the Triumph 2000 saloon, and the model came equipped with a three litre engine, which would later be seen in the Dolomite. The Triumph Stag came with power steering as well as power assisted breaks, and electric windows. One of its key design features was a roll bar in the shape of a T, which supported the windscreen and the doors of the car. This convertible car also came with a choice of hard or soft top cover.
