MEDITATION

BRIDGE The Meditation Bridge allows visitors to enter the Fjaðrárgljúfuris Canyon while providing a place to quiet the mind and contemplate the view. The bridge has a dual function: stay, in the lower level plan, and pass, in the ground level. The project allows access to the park which includes a small nature center, a cafeteria and restrooms. A separate ramp gives access to the lower level where there is a room for meditation and quiet activities.

SITE

Fjaðrárgljúfur is a canyon in southeast Iceland which is up to 100m deep and about 2 kilometers long, with the Fjaðrá river flowing through it. It is located near the Ring Road, not far from the village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

HOUSE This project aims to make possible a super energy-efficient house that is affordable for the middle class and suitable for Moreland neighborhood in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. It was designed to meet the high energy-saving standards of passive houses with a contemporary design that still maintains some traditional neighborhood features.

BUILDING Located in the heart of Brasilia’s Office Center, this project brings new urban concepts to a traditional single-use building zone. The provision of multiple uses in a building creates a continuous flow of activities throughout the day leading to a safe and diverse environment. Based on activities complementary to the needs of office workers, this project delivers a complete building that has restaurants, gyms, shops, daycare and residential apartments.

CEILANDIA The purpose of this project is to give Ceilandia a new downtown with focus on pedestrian needs. This will be accomplished primarily by increasing urban density, modifying land use and removing incompatible buildings as well as huge parking lots. Long lots were divided and an urban park was created. Urban mobility was improved by introducing BRT & bike lanes. The new Downtown Ceilandia aims to provide an urban life full of vitality.
