Femme Creative celebrated our 1st Birthday in May! We could not be more excited to watch our small marketing firm take-off over the past twelve months. It has been such a FUN experience working with great clients, learning about other businesses, and meeting new people along the way. We are simply two women with a passion for marketing, so THANK YOU for allowing us into your lives and your small business.

As many of you know, we are military spouses constantly moving around. We have clients all over the United States and enjoy the perks of email and cell phones in order to stay connected with you. If you ever find yourselves in Oklahoma or New Mexico (where we are currently living), let us know! We would love to meet in person and treat you to lunch. Branding Your Small Business - 8 Basic Tips We have all heard the term ‘branding’ when it comes to our small business, but what exactly does it mean?

Branding is the marketing practice of creating a name, symbol, or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products. So, what can YOU do to help brand your small business for success? Check out the tips below:

1. Get a great logo - Already have one? Great, now place it EVERYWHERE.

2. Write down your brand messaging - These are key

messages that help describe your brand...are you family-owned, custom, multifaceted? Let your customers know who you are.

3. Integrate your brand - From

contracts to invoices to email signatures and more, your branding should be incorporated into every part of your business.

4. Create a “voice” for your company that reflects your brand - Is your small business

targeting a specific gender? Is your brand casual or formal? Make sure you clearly communicate this to potential customers.

5. Develop a tagline - Keep it

short and sweet, yet captivating for your customers to remember. Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ is a great example.

6. Design templates and create brand standards for your marketing materials - Use your brand colors, fonts, and images

throughout all your materials for consistency and uniformity.

7. Be true to your brand -

Make sure to deliver on your brand promise. Do you guarantee satisfaction? Make sure your customers are happy so they return to you and refer others.

8. Be consistent - This will be

helpful for you and your customers. Keeping your business standards consistent over time will help customers remember you so they keep coming back for more!

Social Media - The BEST & WORST times to post Social Media has become HUGE over the last few years. More than 25% of ALL the time people spend online is spent on social networks. Men and women from all age groups and income levels use various social networking sites to get information. Small businesses especially can benefit from outlets like Facebook and Twitter. They can help you find and connect with more of your target market and allow you to spread your content to a much wider audience. Social media is the future, take advantage of the benefits for your small business.

In order to best utilize the time you spend working with social media, make sure to publish your information at peak times so you can reach the most people.
