Felisha Wells January 14, 2011 Block 2 Score Give a 1-4 score for yourself on each of the following... Purpose: Why did you create what you created? I wanted people to know that children are still greatly neglected. I wanted to create it so my peers could see the child abuse from my perspective. Sometimes people don’t seem neglected or abused at first, but you never know what they are really going through. So I brought in a number of different visionaries. Everyone sees things differently. Some are more hands on, some prefer to be talked to, and some prefer to watch it. 4/4 Relevance: How is your project relevant to the novel/-driving question? What is poverty? To me poverty is when you are in need of many things. Wikipedia says Poverty is the lack of basic human needs, such as clean water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter, because of the inability to afford them. It is very relevant because the character in the book, David, lived in poverty. So I brought in some very old clothes that look like they had never been washed before and showed a video, The video show a little boy that was very dirty, stealing food from stores, eating frozen chicken, and eating out of trash cans, he was all alone. 4/4 Quality: Does it look as if the student spent quality time completing the piece (be very kind during this section, as artistic ability varies from student to student). Ask about their process. Don't just assume. I got all four’s from my peers on my project. I really did try every hard to make it how I wanted it. It took some thought and creativity, especially with the burned diary. With the children clothes I absolutely loved it. I tried to make it seem like the clothes were personally David’s from his child life. It wasn’t just some thing I brought in and put it on the table. 4/4

Oral Presentation Eloquence: Is the student able to answer probing questions with relative ease (again, based on your knowledge of the student and their personality, be kind to the more shy souls). I explained the whole story to my peers. They didn’t really ask any questions. When they did ask I think I answered there questions very well. I acknowledge all the comments they had and asked them a few questions in return. Other than that, they watched the video or read from the diary entries. 4/4 Timeliness: Was/ is it completed on time? If not, why? It was complete on time. With the extra time I made some minor improvements. Asked my family how they rated it and they loved it. 4/4 20/20
