WORK EXPERIENCE AEDAS -Project: Ski Village - Neom Trojena

2022-PRESENT

-Project location: Saudi Arabia / Neom -Project type: Competition ( Won by Aedas ) -Project duration: 3 months -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design validation -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Enscape, Powerpoint, Ps. -Job description: I enter the project at the concept validation stage. Mainly to work on deliveries of 75 and 100%. I spent a month working in the Dubai office and after that I work remotely from Buenos Aires. We have daily deadlines and several meetings with the team. I have multiple roles, from 2d drawings to complex 3d modeling and conceptual renderings. We developed specific parts of the project as general concepts with constant feedback from the client and the advisors. We use Rhinoceros+Grasshooper for 3d modeling. The renders are generated in Enscape. For plans and sections I work them in Rhinoceros. The renders I make are not at a professional level. They are conceptual and schematic visualizations to show an idea and then develop it. We work in parallel on plant, sections, 3d models and renderings. I specialize mainly in 3d modeling.

-Project location: Saudi Arabia / Riyadh -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 3 months -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Id, Ps. -Job description: I enter the project in the second stage of the competition. I was specifically part of the 3D team. We were three people who modeled in 3D. We received the brief and some sketches from Massimiliano and from that we developed models for the different buildings of the project. We proposed several lines of work that later Massimiliano chose one or several and we continued developing them. In some cases you had to follow a sketch and in others you had to propose new ideas. Generally, several concepts were worked on at the same time. I worked remotely from Buenos Aires with daily meetings with the team and Massimiliano and Doriana. Every day at the end I sent a report with the progress. I was in constant communication with the 3d team and we had reviews with the project leader every 4 hours. My role was the 3D design of several programs. For example, work in Parliament, the Royal Palace, Hospitals, Ministries, Caserme, Museums, Mosque, Palaces for royal guests, housing for ministers, soldiers and administrative staff. The development level consisted of 3d concepts that the 2d team then worked on in plans and sections.

FUKSAS -Project: Neom Bay Mansions

2020

-Project location: Saudi Arabia / Neom -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 2 months -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Id. -Job description: My role was to develop, together with the 3D team, 20 mansion options. 10 of 2,000 m2, 7 of 5,000 m2 and 3 of 10,000 m2. In the team we were 3 people, each one proposed 7 options that after the first stage the client would select 10 to continue developing. For this work I had complete freedom to project. Although only 7 options were chosen, I proposed at least 20 options that Massimiliano then chose the 7 options that continued to be developed. For this first stage we had 1 week for the modeling of the 20 options and a week later for the renderings, which were made in China. For this I prepared the models for them and we had an open communication with constant feedback and adjustments of the models. Then the second stage was longer and the 10 selected models were worked on in more detail. The interior of the mansions was developed in 3D. In parallel, the 2D team produced plans and sections based on models that we shared with them. In this case I specialized only in the 3d model and the conceptual design of the mansions and the landscaping within the plot.

FUKSAS -Project: Neom Mountain Mansions

-Project location: Saudi Arabia / Neom -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 1 month -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Id. -Job description: My role was to develop, together with the 3D team, 10 mansion options. 6 of 2,000 m2, 3 of 5,000 m2 and 1 of 10,000 m2. In the team we were 3 people, each one proposed 4 options that after the first stage the client would select 5 to continue developing. For this work I had complete freedom to project. Although only 3 options were chosen, I proposed at least 15 options that Massimiliano then chose the 3 options that continued to be developed. For this first stage we had 1 week for the modeling of the 10 options and a week later for the renderings, which were made in China. WORK EXPERIENCE FUKSAS -Project: Furniture For Poltrona Frau

2020

-Project location: Italy / Rome -Project type: Commissioned project -Project duration: 1 month -Client: Potrona Frau -Design phase: Product design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: After 6 months working only in architecture, I was also assigned to the industrial design area. While still working on architecture competitions, I started to develop the prototype of a line of chairs and armchairs for Poltrona Frau. The work consisted of 3d modeling and some visualizations of the furniture series. This team was more related to Doriana. Also help with some patterns for some prints. Doriana made sketches that I then modeled in 3d and applied some variations and proposed other possibilities..

FUKSAS -Project: Lamps for Stilnovo

-Project location: Italy / Rome -Project type: Commissioned project -Project duration: 3 weeks -Client: Stilnovo -Design phase: Product design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: Parallel to the furniture project for Poltrona Frau, I was assigned to design a line of lamps for Stilnovo. The process consisted of proposing multiple design lines that would later be reduced and mixed until the final product was obtained. The Team was formed by the director of the industrial design area of Studio ​​ Fuksas and we responded to assignments from Doriana. My work consisted of the design and 3d modeling of the lamps and conceptual visualizations of each line.

-Project location: China / Taozhuang Town -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 3 weeks -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Id. -Job description: For this competition I was assigned as the only 3d modeler at the beginning, where I made a 3d map of the town. Later it was updated with a proposal for circulation systems in 3 scales, pedestrian, car and train. Then we proceeded to the proposal of 3 zones to be developed. A housing area near the river, an industrial area and a commercial and cultural exchange area. Each area had a series of buildings for which I made different proposals. The work is done with rhino3d. In this project I worked with the China office, from Buenos Aires.

FUKSAS -Project: Gelendzhik Vineyard Resort

2020

-Project location: Russia / Gelendzhik -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 2 weeks -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d,Id. -Job description: After the competition, which was won by another studio, the client generated a sub-competition for a single building. Work on a proposal for the main vineyard building. For this I had to generate the 3d model of the masterplan based on jpgs of the winning proposal, to later include the building and for the production of renders, in this case made by Studio Fuksas. For this work I proposed multiple models with variations. On the one hand following Massimiliano’s sketches and on the other proposing new ideas. On this project the 3D team consisted solely of me. It was a quick project that I worked on in parallel with the NEOM mansions.

FUKSAS -Project: Fuksas Research Lab

-Project location: Argentina / Misiones -Project type: Research lab / Future living -Project duration: 3 months -Client: Fuksas -Design phase: Investigation. -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: After obtaining the third prize in a private contest carried out by Studio Fuksas, I was incorporated into the research lab where I carried out a project based on the brief. The Competition aimed to promote the research in relation of the coming environment that will take place in 50 years from now. Beyond digital, beyond the urban, which spatial experiences, places, materials, solutions and process will be implemented integrating technology, nature, mobility, work-living environments or units. How is the city in 2070? Focusing in health and wellbeing as the core to all human activities. The aim of the competition was to wonder which is the next leap of technology, materials, work-living devices, units or Architecture that will define the new urban and new living experience. “The research is located between the natural and the artificial, moving from one to the other. It generates a system of opposites, private public, work life, natural environment, artificial environment. The hypothesis works with the idea of the limit between the natural and the artificial. Studying a natural context, he extract formal and organizational logics to hybridize artificial conditions. The work aims at the construction of an architectural system that changes the way we live. The life of the future points to a dense community that demands open and natural spaces. The construction of natural spaces and microclimates inherits logic and behaviors from the context studied. Dichotomy proposes the construction of an architectural hybrid model. The research builds a work methodology based on systems of variables. From a natural context, ranges of maximum and minimum values are defined to regulate the capabilities of the model.” -Felipe Rey


FUKSAS -Project: Tashkent Opera House

2021

-Project location: Uzbekistan / Tashkent -Project type: Commissioned project -Project duration: 1-2 months -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: The client wanted an opera that copied Palladio. Studio Fuksas did not agree and they commissioned me to propose a series of operas from very classical inspired by Garnier’s opera to buildings like Hans Scharoun’s Berlin Philharmonic. Between those two styles, we built multiple models that worked inside with a classic organization and outside with a modern design. My roles were in the first instance to model the site, the entire park of Tashkent with its main buildings and other components of the context. Then work on the opera proposal through 3d models made in rhino 3d and visualizations made with Lumion.

FUKSAS -Project: WuMart HQ

2021

-Project location: China / Shenzhen -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 3 weeks -Client: WuMart -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: WuMart opened a competition for the design of its headquarters in Shenzen. The project consisted of a 200 m high tower. The podium would house public programs, relating them to a nearby plaza and pedestrian traffic. It would have shops and restaurants on the ground floor. Then a third of the tower would be for rent and the rest for private programs. For this competition I worked modeling options in 3d. I used rhino3d and Lumion.

FUKSAS -Project: Antuo Hill Museum

-Project location: China / Shenzhen -Project type: Competition -Project duration: 1 month -Client: Confidential -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: For this competition, I worked modeling in 3d a series of buildings that are part of the Museum area. Multipurpose buildings, museums, schools, offices, public and private, among others. In addition, the landscape that was part of the building itself was proposed, as a system of stacked plates that interspersed open programs with closed programs.

FUKSAS -Project: Gelendzhik Airport

2021

-Project location: Russia / Gelendzhik -Project type: Commissioned project -Project duration: 3 weeks -Client: -Design phase: Concept design -Software: Rhino3d, Gasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: Once the new airport was under construction, they commissioned him to remodel the old buildings. The project consisted of generating cantilevered roofs that cover warehouses, offices, sheds and the old airport. In addition, work was done on new facades based on patterns and materials from the new airport. My work consisted of 2d and 3d landscape design, both natural and artificial. The covers formed a series of pieces that were separated but formed a figure in plan. Work was done on a design integrating streets, landscape and buildings.

Universidad Torcuato DiTella -Teacher Assistant: Design V

-Job description: Together with Juan Pablo Porta, we teach the design course V. It is the last year before the end of degree thesis. The course works on generic models building primitives and integrating multiple models and variables into complex and robust models. It works from both architectural and natural case studies. Systems capable of adapting to an environment and deploying their organizational and formal capacities are built. The course is called skyscrapers, and it proposes new ways of generating and inhabiting systemic architectures.

REVEL ARCH -Project: Tulum Housing

-Project location: Mexico / Tulum -Project type: Commissioned projects -Project duration: 2 months -Client: Private -Design phase: Concept design, Schematic design -Software: Rhino3d, Grasshopper, Lumion, Id. -Job description: We put together a team with Luciano Landaeta to develop a vision planning and concept project for two clients in Tulum. The first project consisted of a Nano housing complex, with micro housing units, communal areas, restaurants, swimming pools, walkways, amphitheaters and multiple use areas. Together we work on the design of the landscape and on the location and typologies of each element. The second project consisted of a rental building with three levels and 14 units. Each unit had a concept behind and differed from the rest. An integrated design of landscape and architecture was worked on. Both projects are awaiting a second stage of development and capital investment.

REVEL ARCHITECTURE -Own Oficce: Founder and Project manager REVEL is a highly speculative architecture and design office, with a disruptive approach to the way of generating architecture. He works a line of research focused on towers, works with private clients on a more domestic scale and works with virtual worlds that dilute the border between natural and artificial. In turn, it has an appendix that is REVEL.DSGN that works as an artistic studio that makes digital art. The studio experiments with new ways of thinking about buildings and generation processes. The studio works with 3d models and visualizations and animations.

Pangea is a skyscraper that brings together various aspects of life, building a vertical world. It hybridizes the relationship between the artificial and the natural, blurring the boundary between the two. High jungles, food fields below offices and above shops, playgrounds coexist with research laboratories. The post-pandemic era is going to demand more natural spaces and open meeting places. Human life is changing dramatically to the point of displacing the human from the center, and turning our attention to caring for the planet. The Anthropocene is about to mutate into cities with ecosystems capable of generating environments for other species. The coexistence between species and the development of a new architecture is the key point of the moment in which we find ourselves. It is time to return to nature what we have taken with us indiscriminately. The integration between different species and natural and artificial systems should be the focus of urban development. Pangea has no place; it can be built anywhere on the globe. It is updated depending on the environment to optimize the resources of the site and enhance the local flora and fauna. Each tower has a relationship with its neighboring towers, just as Pangea organized the continents. The rhizomatic skyscraper is multiprogrammatic. It is both natural and artificial. It is a vertical, adaptable world. Changes the anthropocentric paradigm, for a more united ecosystem . A rhizome. Pangea, we come together again. (including other species).” Felipe Rey Velez

Variable floor plans Pangea is built from the systematic study of bird flight. Each level of the building responds to movements of the bird. The wingbeats generate displacements and fractures between levels, producing terraces, caves and overlaps at each level. These singularities make up a series of artificial ecosystems at the height and witdth of the building. This vertical city creates its own energy and food supplies. Pangea works as a home for different species increasing the flora and fauna.
