The concept designed for the Foof corporation consists in the realisation of five tourist accommodation units inserted in an extensive park highly dominated by poplar trees. The widespread hotel is conceived in between the pattern of the trees, which therefore become the core of the design. The purpose of the proposed architecture is the harmonious integration with the surrounding scenario. In fact, the spaces of the units unfold around the trees, hugging one at it’s core. On the ground floor this idea is carried out through a dense number of columns which support the X-lam structure and invoke the physiognomy of the tree trunks. Furthermore, The site becomes an occasion to create a play space as well as a path to discover.

The aim of the project was to create a space that generates a sense of continuous curiosity, which could lead everyone, from the youngest to the oldest visitor, to discover and explore the whole building. This sense of curiosity is suggested already from the exterior of the building through an anodised metal mesh curtain that allows the reproduction of images by the use of a wide range of colours. The entire facade become itself a book which illustrates some episodes of the Pinocchio’s fable. The curtain is an important element for the project, recurring in different shapes and functions: it becomes a recognisable element in the facade, a partition to create hidden spaces to be discovered, and an occasion to create chromatic light effects. The use of the curtains in the interior space full of columns guarantees the creation of various small private spaces, that could be used as reading rooms, creativity workplace or even playgrounds. As a result the space is never the same, both in the functions and in the colours.The entire interior space inside the building is connected to a central open-air unifying space, that becomes the heart of the project. This is obtained by the elimination of a block of the building, that used to be a connection between two other blocks. This small linear park has several different areas, related to play and to have a rest, located one next to another, and every function inside the building can referees to it. The staircase to the upper floors is hidden by a green grid juxtapose to the facade inside the court. This facade again tells different stories, this time throughout the grid.

The aim of the project renovation was to rearrangement the interior spaces and a horizontal reddivision of the space, while maintaining the existing volume. the reorganization of the spaces is also visible from the outside thanks to the new large window that connects all the floors. The window is characterized by a thick draw of green, that starts from the last floor up to the principal entrance of the house, identifiable by the recess in corten.

The project of the external space is developed on three different levels that follow the morphology of the land. At the highest altitude, corresponding to the level of the house, a green path is created through a plate that has a dual function: becoming both an element of shadow for the area below, , creating a reserved area, both a new point and contemplation of the landscape at the highest altitude . From the intermediate level, you can access the pool area, shielded by a thick vegetation characterized by plants of the Sicilian territory. SOFTWARE USE

The winery is located within a landscape of considerable interest, dominated by the scenery of Etna and a varied vegetation. The intention of the project is to redesign the paths and the external seats inside the wine estate using light materials that can not obstruct the view and are consistent with the surrounding environment. COSTRUIRE IN LEGNO, strutture di suppoto al Teatro Greco di Siracusa PRE-DESIGN

La proposta della tesi consiste in una proposta di riconessione del Parco Archeologico della Neapolis di Siracusa con gli spazi che lo circondano, attenzionando i percorsi ciclo-pedonali, creando aree di svago, aree per il tempo libero e riqualificando così una zona nevralgica della città, sede di importanti siti culturali ed archeologici. Una delle principali problematiche riscontrate è la scarsa valorizzazione del percorso che circoscrive il Parco. Pertanto le proposte progettuali sono orientate alla sistemazione del manto stradale e alla riqualificazione dei luoghi di passaggio proponendo anche la chiusura di un tratto stradale di Via Ettore Romagnoli. In tal modo si da origine ad aree di permanenza e spazi pubblici concepiti con la predisposizione di un nuovo percorso ciclo-pedonale che si affaccia sul Parco. Altro tema sul quale porre l’attenzione è la mancanza di spazi urbani e l’inadeguatezza dei servizi destinati ai fruitori del Parco. L’obiettivo è quello di sfruttare le potenzialità culturali e archeologiche del sito attraverso la rigenerazione delle zone adiacenti, che fungono da filtro tra città e Parco. In particolare, a sud del parco in Via Giuseppe Agnello, si propone la progettazione di una struttura temporane reversivibili attraverso un sistema costruttivo a secco per la valorizzazione e il potenziamento della ricettività all’interno del Parco Archeologico della Neapolis. L’area di progetto prevede la realizzazione di una struttura polifunzionale, in grado di ospitare diversi servizi aperti al pubblico quali ricezione, ristorazione e sala conferenza. L’obiettivo del progetto è la realizzazione di strutture a basso impatto sul suolo archeologico adoperando delle specifiche fondazioni a vite capaci di evitare l’utilizzo del calcestruzzo e limitando così lo scavo del terreno. Lo studio, inoltre, focalizzza l’attenzione nella gestione dei sistemi costruttivi modulari per facilitare il trasporto in/out nell’area in oggetto. Il progetto sarà pertanto caratterizzato da criteri di facile trasportabilità su veicoli da trasporto standard, capaci di transitare agevolmente dall’accesso carrabile del sito.
