LA OBSTINADA FORMA DEL PRESENTE texto de sala El miedo en su dimensión existencial está encarnado en la humanidad desde su origen y se encuentra enraizado en cada uno de nosotros como parte esencial del sentido que le damos a la realidad. Nos hemos volcado en crear múltiples formas de apaciguarlo mediante la imitación de los procesos macro cósmicos de la naturaleza en el microcosmos de la vida particular y la vida social para así vincularnos simbólicamente con este mundo en su faceta hostil, inhóspita y siniestra. Hoy, nos enfrentamos a lo que se nos presenta como una nueva naturaleza, una que se rige por la lógica mercantil del despojo, el rendimiento y la acumulación: una fuerza inescrutable que envuelve y recorre todas las cosas, se apropia de ellas, las explota y las consume; un canon que se filtra miméticamente como sentido común mediante nuestra conducta, y que al metabolizarse en la subjetividad de los individuos, encuentra su anclaje perfecto en ese terror original.

Ante este panorama, la obra de Fernando Cerna plantea un ejercicio de intercepción visual, donde la imagen se hace consciente como un dispositivo con la capacidad intrínseca e inevitable de subvertir este orden, emancipándose de esos valores predeterminados de totalidad, racionalidad y estandarización, al deshabilitar el reconocimiento inmediato de los objetos mediante la creación de estructuras fragmentarias, donde el origen de las formas obedece a la voluntad imperiosa de encarnar y de darle sentido al mundo.

A través de un despliegue de sensaciones, asisten a nuestro encuentro elementos como el concreto, el asfalto y el metal, transmutados en un juego de contrastes entre gestos precisos y violentos que, en palabras de Gottfried Boehm, nos conducen hacia un espacio lúdico reservado para el ojo, intensificando así la potencialidad icónica de la imagen en sus distintos niveles de representación, lo que dota a cada pieza de una indeterminación que nos invita a reflexionar sobre los efectos de esta nueva naturaleza latente en todas las esferas de nuestro estar aquí, ahora. Ecos de cadáveres retóricos que balbucean la forma sigue a la función, lo que ves es lo que ves y no hay alternativa se aglomeran en un espacio de conflicto, en estas imágenes crepusculares conformadas por albas y ocasos premonitorios que fungen como escenarios de fantasías arquitectónicas y nos muestran entornos enfermizos en una fase contenida de catástrofe. Cuerpos geométricos incapaces de proyectar sombras exteriores, acaso por su carácter espectral, y que se articulan respondiendo a un impulso de melancolía.

Las obras que conforman esta exhibición manifiestan una conciencia situacional cuya fuerza se sustenta en la necesidad de representarse el mundo. Nos invitan a pensar sobre nuestra frágil seguridad al navegar en este mar de las cosas exactas y proponen interrogantes sobre las nulas posibilidades de arraigo y pertenencia en un ambiente en el que, sin una postura propia, es imposible que exista el movimiento.

THE STUBBORN FORM OF THE PRESENT room text Fear in its existential dimension has been incarnated in humanity since its origin and is rooted in each one of us as an essential part of the meaning we give to reality. We have turned to create multiple ways to appease it by imitating the macrocosmic processes of nature in the microcosm of our particular and social life in order to symbolically link ourselves with this world in its hostile, inhospitable and sinister facet.

Today, we face what is presented to us as a new nature, one that is governed by the mercantile logic of dispossession, yield and accumulation: an inscrutable force that envelops and runs through all things, appropriates, exploits and consumes them; a canon that mimetically filters as common sense through our behavior, and that when metabolized in the subjectivity of individuals, finds its perfect anchorage in that original terror.

Faced with this panorama, Fernando Cerna's work poses an exercise of visual interception, where the image becomes conscious as a device with the intrinsic and inevitable capacity to subvert this order, emancipating itself from those predetermined values of totality, rationality and standardization, by disabling the immediate recognition of objects through the creation of fragmentary structures, where the origin of the forms obeys the imperious will to incarnate and make sense of the world.

Through a display of sensations, elements such as concrete, asphalt and metal meet us, transmuted into a game of contrasts between precise and violent gestures that, in the words of Gottfried Boehm, lead us to a playful space reserved for the eye, thus intensifying the iconic potentiality of the image in its different levels of representation, which endows each piece with an indeterminacy that invites us to reflect on the effects of this new latent nature in all spheres of our being here, now.

Echoes of rhetorical corpses that babble form follows function, what you see is what you see and there is no alternative are agglomerated in a space of conflict, in these crepuscular images made up of premonitory dawns and sunsets that serve as scenarios of architectural fantasies and show us sickly environments in a contained phase of catastrophe. Geometric bodies incapable of projecting external shadows, perhaps because of their spectral character, and which are articulated in response to an impulse of melancholy.

The works that make up this exhibition manifest a situational awareness whose strength is based on the need to represent the world. They invite us to think about our fragile security when navigating in this sea of exact things and propose questions about the null possibilities of rootedness and belonging in an environment in which, without a posture of one's own, it is impossible for movement to exist.
