A message from the General Manager, Shawn Rohrbacker

With colder weather upon us, District Staff has shifted focus to complete indoor projects as well as provide much needed care to our parks and facilities. Improvements are in progress for the small gym, located inside of the Activity Center, including new paint and flooring. A new snack bar will be built at Gary Nolan Sports Complex. The Riverbend Park Restoration Phase II has begun, and includes the beach area, amphitheater, boat dock, and south play area. Our Maintenance Crew has made a great deal of progress in landscaping and tree pruning at most of our local facilities. We are also excited to introduce new recreation and special interest classes in 2020, as well as additional programming for gymnastics. Join us in April for the annual Wildflower & Nature Festival at Riverbend Park to enjoy unique vendors, children’s activities, and live entertainment. More information can be found in this guide and on our website. We look forward to a wonderful 2020 with the communities we serve!

Preschool/Childcare The child development center at FRRPD Activity Center offers an amazing preschool program. We offer five different preschool groups ranging from 18 months to Pre-Kindergarten. We provide a nurturing and accepting environment that focuses on physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. This is achieved through a variety of developmentally appropriate, hands on activities and we recognize that each child has individual needs to ensure success. Through teacher assisted and directed activities, as well as unstructured play, children are encouraged to be independent thinkers, have compassion toward others, and are supported as lifelong learners. Students are divided into five different age groups: Minnows, Sea Turtles, Starfish, Jelly Fish, and Dolphins depending on age and potty training level. Our teachers and aides are CPR & First Aid certified and meet the California State requirements of their classifications. We also staff an on site cook that prepares healthy meals and snacks daily. The structured daily schedule incorporates Zoo Phonics into the curriculum. Children are provided with morning and afternoon outside time on our large playground, as well as free play in the Kindergym. We are open year round Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm. Stop by the Activity Center to receive more information, meet our Childcare Director and take a tour. Location: FRRPD Activity Center, Preschool License # 045405901 Prices per month
