Explore a house and parkland A family home Discover the story of this Georgian country house originally built for naval hero Admiral Boscawen and his wife, lady of letters and hostess, Fanny. Today the mansion is home to tenant Alec Cobbe and his remarkable collection of paintings, fine furniture and composer-related keyboard instruments.

A place to explore The extensive parkland, designed in part by Humphry Repton, is full of year round interest and renowned for its stunning bluebell display in the ancient woodland in Spring. It’s also a great place for families to enjoy – there are house and garden trails as well as Wizard Wix’s Willow Warren – a natural adventure area featuring hand-crafted willow tunnels, domes and balance beams. A time to relax Enjoy a welcome break in the cosy tea-room in the old kitchen, browse the gift shop and discover more about the history of the house and parkland in the Old Stable. For the first time this year you can also take a peek into the NGS quiet garden – a little oasis of tranquillity in the busy cobbled courtyard.
