In July 2021, Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) officially launched its 15th anniversary celebration in recognition of its support of the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and families. Since July 20, 2007, FCP invested more than $6 million in Bucks County’s non-profit organizations and community through grants and technical assistance, high school scholarships, service-learning internships for college students, and education programs and research. FCP traces its roots to the Delaware Valley Mental Health Foundation which founded a small psychiatric hospital in Doylestown in 1964. By 1996, the hospital became known as Foundations Behavioral Health and its scope expanded to encompass a full range of behavioral health services for children and adolescents. In 2007, a for-profit organization acquired the hospital. As a result of the sale, FCP was established to continue the grantmaking, community education, internship, scholarship, and research activities of the hospital. Reflecting on FCP’s long and proud history, I want to acknowledge Founding Executive Director Ron Bernstein for his vision to build this foundation into a catalyst for improving the quality of life in Bucks County. Further, I want to thank our senior consultant Dr. Dan Weldon for offering his expertise since FCP’s founding as well as former Associate Director Nancy DiNatale and current Associate Director Caroline O’Connell Sinton to help build the many programs and services that support our non-profit community to this day. Finally, our sincere thanks go to the many members of our Board of Directors, past and present, who gave their time and energy to help get us here. We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone with all our grantees, stakeholders, employees, consultants, and friends. Thank you for your continued commitment and support of FCP. Sincerely,

As part of its Partnership in Education program, FCP also awards the Morris M. Davis Award, Ron Bernstein Outstanding Service Scholarship, as well as an annual scholarship at Bucks County Community College, Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, and Delaware Valley University.
This program provides service-learning opportunities for motivated college students, entering their second or third year in college, residing in Bucks County, Pa. Students use both academic and social skills to address human needs and solve problems in the real world. They are “matched” with select non-profit human service organizations for a 10-week, paid internship with the opportunity to earn college credits. Forced to cancel the program in 2020 due to the pandemic, SYC welcomed a smaller cohort of seven interns in 2021.

Sincerely,
Tobias Bruhn, Ed.D., CFRE We apologize for any inaccuracies or omissions that may have occurred in publishing this annual report. If you discover any inaccuracies, please bring them to our attention by calling (267) 247-5584 or e-mailing info@fcpartnership.org.
