Dear Friends: Thanks to all of you who prayed for us during Bob’s illness. Your Christian concern and friendship has been greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the wonderful expressions of love, concern, and for the food brought to our home. In His Love, Frances Dear Church Family: Thank you so much for the many cards, prayers, and financial support you provided following the passing of George. He so much loved being apart of this church family. Jay Stubbs & family To the Church Family: Happy Thanksgiving to each one of you, with much appreciation and always blessings to each of you, New Testament Mission. Love Bro. Mike & Sister Pat Karl Dear Church Family: A gigantic thank you to the community and First Baptist Church for opening your hearts to the African Children’s Choir, Wednesday, 10/16. Over 900 people watched in amazement as these 7-10 year olds gave us a message of love and good will. These children tour the U.S. to raise awareness of poverty in Africa. Those who attended also were blessed when the Woodlawn, Fred Wild, Cracker Trail, our children’s choir and the Sebring Middle School Choirs as they joined the African Children on stage to sing NKOSI SIKELE (the African National Anthem). The choirs worked hard to learn the words. When their bus broke down in West Palm Beach, Annett Bus Lines came to the rescue. Host families took care of lodging and meals for 2 nights, ripped costumes were repaired, broken suitcases were replaced, Erik Christensen and the Kitchen Angels provided extra meals for their Wednesday supper time, volunteers helped out—even setting up classrooms for the children to have their schooling uninterrupted. Linda Crowder at the Children’s Museum of Highlands invited the little ones inside to experience many new learning activities. They couldn’t stop talking about their fun time! The article by Jay Meisel and pictures by Ryan Pelham in the Highlands Today was of special interest to the children. They were given newspaper clippings for their scrapbooks. Thank you again Highlands County! Patricia Sinkler Our Church Family: Thanks for your prayers in comforting us during our loss and for the lovely flowers. May God Bless each and everyone of you for your kindness. God Bless. The Family of Donel Daff

During their gathering, each will be able to have a devotion time using a Bible, tabbed with suggested reading, included in their basket. Volunteers will be needed on the following date: Saturday, November 22, 8:00 am: Prepare and assemble baskets. 10:00 am to noon: Distribution - Families will come to the church to get baskets, and volunteers will be needed to assist families. SENIOR PASTOR Hello, Church! I hope this newsletter finds you doing well and enjoying the fall season. I am so grateful for the little bit of cooler weather we are getting now. I am also thankful that we have finally gotten into our home here in Sebring and that baby Emma will be arriving very soon! By the time you get this newsletter, she should be here! Thank you for asking about our family and praying for us so faithfully. Speaking of being thankful, I want you to know about the next sermon series we will be starting soon: “A LIFE of Thanksgiving.” According to God’s Word, living and giving out of a thankful heart should be the way we live at all times, not just the way we live during the holiday season. This sermon series will examine a biblical view of stewardship of our time,
OUR MISSION STATEMENT Under the Lord Jesus Christ, we will connect with others, grow as disciples,

Thanksgiving gifts, and finances and connect that stewardship to our gratitude for God’s love, provision, and salvation in Jesus Christ.
We, the First Baptist Church of Sebring, are committed to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, fulfilling the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) in order to reach and convert the lost and to equip the saved to be on mission with the Lord.
Give thanks – How? To whom? Why? The answers we can find in Henry Smith’s song. Like the song says, Give thanks with a grateful heart; Give thanks to the Holy One; Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son. We have hope for eternity because of the salvation we find in Jesus Christ. During the season of Thanksgiving we take a lot of time to be thankful for family members, friends, our country, and stuff we have, but let’s give priority to thank God for sending His only Son, for shedding His blood on the cross, for paying the punishment for our sins, and for making us right with God. On a side note, don’t forget our November 10 and 11 dates celebrating Veterans Day . On November 10, if you are a veteran, you are invited to come along with your spouse to the 3rd Annual Breakfast for Veterans here at our church. Just call the office to sign up. The following day, November 11, we are very excited to host the Heartland Pops Band, as they play a concert entitled “Salute to the Veterans.” They have as a special guest the Navy Band Conductor, Commander Allen Beck. The concert is FREE and starts at 7 pm in our church sanctuary. Love you in Christ!
Su hermano en Cristo; Luis Luna Dear First Baptist family, my family wanted to express our appreciation for the support you provided during this difficult time as we lost our father .The time we spent with our family was much needed, and it was a blessing. We thank you for your continued prayers. Pastor Luis Luna.
