So many prayers, cards, and kindnesses these past 5 months—it was a First Baptist shower of love. God healed my broken foot and strengthened my faith, as well. Thank you all for traveling this journey with me. Carolyn Hesselink Bereavement Committee—Thank you so much for the food. Your support during this difficult time was much appreciated. MINISTER OF MUSIC Hello everyone,
SENIOR PASTOR Church Family, Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read the Voice newsletter. I thank the Lord for your faithfulness in service, giving, and attending our church. It is a blessing to live together in community as those redeemed by Christ. We have been blessed by the Lord in our process of searching for a youth pastor. I am excited to have you meet our youth pastor candidate, Lonnie Hill, as well as his wife, Mari, and their son, Alex! Please be in prayer for all the remaining details of our search process, and ask the Lord to greatly bless our student ministry. Thank you for being a church that cares deeply about the next generation and passing on our faith.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT Under the Lord Jesus Christ, we will connect with others, grow as disciples,
and serve with our gifts. THE LORD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER
I love this verse that talks about just that topic: 2 Timothy 2:2. Paul encourages Timothy, his pastoral protege: "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." My prayer is that we as a church will faithfully teach the gospel and the Word of Christ to the next generation of disciples, so that they can continue to pass on the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3). I love you and pray God's blessings upon you! In Christ, Pastor Matt

I know my last article was about the Honduras mission trip that was about to happen, but I am still in awe of how God worked in all of the participants' lives while we were helping the people of El Riito in the beautiful mountains of Honduras. You have heard the numbers, but let me refresh your memory. The entire ministry group, counting drivers and translators, was over 50 people; 1,053 was the number of people helped in the medical clinic; over 6,033 prescriptions were filled; 222 dental patients seen and 575 teeth pulled; 868 was the number of animals helped by our vet team; in eyeglass ministry, 420 eyeglasses were distributed; 800 clothing bags were given; 1,200 bags of rice and beans were given to the medical clinic patients as well as during the evangelism ministry (door-to-door); and here are the best numbers: 75 people accepted the Lord as their Savior, and we saw 21 rededicating their lives back to God’s service! Amen! Praises be to our God, for He is good! He is our Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and our El Shaddai! The Lord God Almighty! I probably could use the entire “Voice” to tell the many stories some funny and some sad - of our experience in Honduras. The Lord is working with the Hondurans’ hearts, and I know He is using us, our church, to be a part of His blessing. Pray for the next team going in February of 2015. Find out ways you can be a part, whether lending a helping hand here in the preparation part of the mission trip, or going overseas to be more close and personal with God’s people in Honduras. On a different note, the First Baptist Sebring Worship Choir CD will be ready VERY soon. If this is news to you, let me share with you a little. Our Worship Team has been working on mostly writing original songs and have recorded a CD. The choir has recorded their part and now we are in the final details of the long editing part. In September of this year, we will worship together on a Sunday night when the choir will sing all the songs on this CD. It has been fun (for most of us!) to record this CD, and we have been praying that it will be a blessing to the people of FBC Sebring as we learn and sing these songs.
Pastor,
Love you in Christ! Jezimar Nuno Norberto Associate Pastor, Music and Senior Adults
