One of the best things that we do as a student ministry is the Won by One ministry. Students are engaged with older mentors who are deep in their faith. They are engaged on a very personal and spiritual level. This accomplishes two things; 1. This strengthens the faith of our students as we prepare them to better engage an unbelieving world. While this by no means replaces or seeks to replace the place of loving parents leading their children spiritually, our hope is that this would further solidify the faith of our students. 2. It strengthens the community of our church as we seek a strong, multi-generational community. We hope that the relationships that the Won by One ministry has built will continue this year. We also hope that for students who have lost contact with their mentor or have yet to get a mentor would focus on building up that relationship. If you have yet to find a mentor, please contact any student leader or anyone on the student staff. We would love to help you find a mentor to walk alongside of and pray for you. If you do not yet have a Won by One card or have more questions please speak to J.J. or Austin.

Blanket Project The student ministry is holding its annual blanket project to give to people in need in a North Dakota Indian Reservation. The project will be after church on Sunday, October

28th. The cost per family is $20 which includes lunch and supplies for the blanket. Additional blankets can be purchased for $10. There are only 75 spots, so please sign up soon!

Praise Team Tryouts There will be praise team tryouts for any student interested on October 21st from 2-5. Students will be put in groups to see how they per-

form with other students. If you would like to try out and are committed please see J.J. or Austin for a set list.

Food Drive We live in a community that has a lot of needs. As we approach this coming holiday season, there are some that cannot afford food to feed their families. During the month of October, the Student ministry is holding a food drive to donate to those in need. We are col-

lecting food by grade so please drop your donations in the Studio or give it to a student to take to the Studio. We appreciate everything that our church family gives and are excited to be able to help others in our community who are in need.

Fall Retreat/Winter Retreat The Fall Retreat and Winter Retreat are coming up fast. The Junior High will go on the Fall Retreat on November 9-10. The

cost is $55 and the deadline to sign up is October 31. The High school will go on the winter retreat on December 27-29. The

deadline to sign up for that is December 2nd and the cost is $85. We hope that all of our students are able to attend these life-changing events.

Fall Festival The Church needs a lot of help to put on something as big as the annual fall festival. This is a great outreach to people in our community who are not churched and do not know Jesus. The student ministry is in charge of

several booths that will be outside. There will be sign up sheets in each class for students. We know many students do not want to volunteer on Oct. 31, however this is such an amazing opportunity to impact our community.
