THE MANAGEMENT TEAM Kayode Akinkugbe Managing Director/CEO Kayode Akinkugbe is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FBN Capital Limited. He has over 20 years’ experience working in top tier global investment banks in the UK and Nigeria, where he focused on arranging finance and providing strategic advice to public and private sector organisations. He joined from Deutsche Bank where he was Head of sub-Saharan Africa (ex-SA) coverage. He served as Deputy Managing Director of FBN Capital Limited before his appointment as MD/CEO in March 2012. Qualifications: MSc International Accounting & Finance (London School of Economics), MBA (Cranfield University, United Kingdom) First degree in Economics (University of Ibadan).

Ta i w o O k e o w o Deputy Managing Director Taiwo Okeowo joined FBN Capital Limited in 2006 from FirstBank Nigeria where he was Head of the Corporate Finance Group. A seasoned professional with over 23 years’ experience in investment banking, Taiwo was a pioneer staff of IBTC (now Stanbic lBTC) and has considerable experience in Project finance, M&A, Restructuring and Securities underwriting. He is the Deputy Managing Director, and Head of Investment Banking Division of FBN Capital.

Qualifications: Sloan Masters – MSc Management (London Business School), CFA Charterholder, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Funke Feyisetan Chief Operating Officer Funke Feyisitan is a chartered accountant with over 23 years experience across financial control, product control and business operations management in major global investment banks. Prior to her appointment as FBN Capital’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) in September 2012, Funke was the Executive Director/ COO in JP Morgan with responsibility for several investment banking businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Qualifications: BSc Economics (Brunel University), Securities and Financial Services Approved Person, FCA - Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales, MSc Globalisation (Queen Mary University of London).

Patrick Mgbenwelu Director/Head, Project & Structured Finance Patrick Mgbenwelu is the Director and Head of Project and Structured Finance. Until his appointment in December 2011, he worked with Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc where he was a Director within the Standard Bank Group leading the deal team in originating, structuring and closing of project financings in Nigeria. Patrick has over 20 years’ banking experience, with a primary focus on financial advisory, structuring, debt arranging/lending and closing of PPP/project finance transactions in the United Kingdom, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, U.A.E, other GCC countries, and most recently in Nigeria. Qualifications: Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (London), MSc Finance & Investment (Middlesex University Business School London) MBA (South Bank University, London).

Michael Oyebola Director/Head, Asset Management Michael Oyebola is the Managing Director of FBN Capital Asset Management and has a wealth of experience spanning 18 years both locally and abroad. Until his appointment in January 2011, Michael worked as the Chief Investment Officer of Guaranty Trust Assurance Plc for 4 years and was pioneer Head of Investment, Crusader Sterling Pensions Ltd (a PFA). His other previous overseas engagements include the Mellon Bank, Legal & General, Regent Fund Management, Investec Asset Management, Laxey Partners as Head of Treasury, Hedging & Derivatives managing $350m and Thornhill Investment Management as a member of the team managing £500m. Qualifications: Associate Member of the CFA UK, a member of the CFA Institute, and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) alumnus (Lagos Business School), Masters degree in Finance (Middlesex University, London) and Masters of Science in Investment Analysis (University of Stirling, Scotland).

Irene Otike-Odibi Company Secretary/Legal Advisor Irene Otike-Odibi is Company Secretary and Legal Advisor. With over 17 years’ legal practice (with a particular bias for company and commercial law), Irene has worked in several top commercial law firms in Lagos including Olaniwun Ajayi & Co and Aluko & Oyebode, where she gained extensive experience in project finance, capital market operations (particularly in collective investments), advising core investors in the privatization process, and mergers and acquisition. Qualifications: LLB (University of East-Anglia, Norwich) and member of the Nigerian Bar.

Purpose • To provide trainees with a basic introduction to Investment Banking and Asset Management.

• Minimum of a 2nd Class Upper Degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a reputable higher institution.

• To develop a consistent talent pool that can meet current and future staffing needs.

• Professional qualifications would be an added advantage.

• To fulfill FBN Capital’s commitment to supporting the Government’s plan for youth empowerment and development.

Selection Process Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will go through an assessment centre which would make use of a combination of these tools.

PSYCHOMETRIC TESTS These are used to measure certain psychological aspects of your attitudes and behaviours, emotional adjustment, interests, interpersonal relations and motivation. It also helps determine if you would be a good fit for our organisation.

APPTITUDE TESTS These tests measure your thinking, memory, reasoning and verbal and/or mathematical abilities. IQ tests fall into this category.

INTERVIEWS This is to gather specific information and evaluate your experience, competencies, qualifications and career interests. This would provide significant insight into interpreting and improving the accuracy of the results of used tools and exercises.

LEADERLESS GROUP DISCUSSIONS This will help measure your leadership skills and team coordination. It also helps measure attention to detail and listening skills.

PRESENTATIONS AND ROLE PLAY This evaluates your presentation skills, problem-solving skills, interpersonal capabilities and team management competencies.

You will be required to provide an updated CV and a cover letter stating why you should be considered for the programme. This is a chance to sell yourself, so use a range of examples, both academic and non-academic to highlight your relevant skills and achievements.
