R E TA I L A R E A Founded in Bondi Beach in 2012, Bailey Nelson has quickly grown into a global brand with shops in Australia, London, Canada and New Zealand. The retail design is mininal to allow the produc ts to speak from themselves, but still creating an approachable shopping experience.

SHOPFRONT The black washed plywood in the shopfront contrasts with the lightness of the inside and frames the store in order to highlight the interior and make a n i n v i t e fo r t h e c u s t o m e r t o explore the store.

The a r t wo r k s o n t h e w a l l s we re p a i n t e d by d i f fe re n t local ar tis ts, giving a unique personality to the shop.

P R O D U C T D I S P L AY The wall displays are simple white washed plywood shelves fixed to the walls and connec ted by a ver tical black powedercoated tube that streches to the ceiling. The cupboard below stores the glasses in their boxes and the full height mirrors on the sides complement the wall displays.

The roughness of the architec ture is juxtaposed with the delicacy of the produc ts, creating a harmonic tension between these elements.

MAKEUP AREA Divided by brands on the wall and by application on the counters, the makeup area opens the s t o re a n d i s a n i n v i t a t i o n fo r testing. The furniture is simple and white in order to create a plain background to highlight the produc ts.

F LO O R P L A N / FA C A D E Concrete finishing and architec tural elements brought the look of a d i s t r i b u t i o n c e n t re to t h e fac ad e , together with the boxes in pallets t h a t s e r v e a s a w i n d o w d i s p l ay fo r the brands in store.

PERFUMES Divided by brands, the delicate perfumes are contrasted with the rustic concrete blocks and complemented by the white furniture. The experimentaion areas are spread throughout the s t o re , w h i c h h e l p s fo r a m o re immersive experience.

D I G I TA L / P H Y S I C A L The store is an embodiment of the website, so the digital content is present within the physical store, bridging the online and offline in one space, although still maintaining the industrial style with the stock b e i n g v i s i b l e o n t h e f i r s t f l o o r.

DINNING AREA / SUSHI BAR In its firs t space in Rio de Janeiro, neutral colors and natural materials were employed in the design of N AG A , a es t ablished japanese restaurant that in 1988 opened its first house in SĂŁo P a u l o . Tr a d i t i o n a l j a p a n e s e c u i s i n e i s s e r v e d i n a c o n t e m p o r a r y environment that was inspired by the tropical climate, merging japanese elements with brazilian culture.

RAISED DINNING A raised dinning area is divided by a long curved concrete wall, that separates it in a more intimate area but s till keeps the space united with the lower sitting area. Even without any visual barriers, the space is divided enough to create a cozy atmosphere , together with the dramatic lighting.
