Call for PUAN Special Sports Project: Leadership through Sports Dear PUAN Alumni, The PUAN Grants Office is seeking proposals for a project: Leadership through Sports to be conducted in June/July. Objective: To boost confidence of youth (primarily girls) from underprivileged areas of Karachi and children from refugee communities (to be called participants for the rest of document) To grow their leadership skills To cultivate enthusiasm for sports, fair play, and competition To engage coaches, school administrators, and other community leaders involved in sports so they become champions of leadership (to be called participants for the rest of document) Primary target audiences: Pakistani Youth, primarily girls from under privileged areas with ages between 12-19. Secondary target audiences: Pakistani Youth, Boys with ages between 12-19 Project dates: June 29 - July 1 Deadline for submitting a grant application/proposal: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 Two American Soccer stars will be in Pakistan as Sports Envoy in the month of June/July. PUAN needs alumni who can develop engagement plan for three days in Karachi, each day two 2.5 hours sessions i.e. one in the morning and one in the evening with Pakistani participants with these Envoys emphasizing on developing Leadership skills, cultivating enthusiasm for sports, fair play, and competition, engage coaches, school administrators, and other community leaders involved in sports so they become champions of leadership, boost confidence of participants. Conduct the designed engagement plan with all the logistical arrangements including procuring footballs, Soccer training equipment, honorarium for local coaches, food arrangement for Envoys and participants, tents for shades, buses to transport participants from and to the venue, a decent rent a car with guards to transport Envoys to/from hotel to/from venue and getting backdrops, media wall, standees and banners printed. Venue will be arranged by Consulate Karachi so grantee needs not to arrange.
PUAN Grant Guidelines: (to download application form visit www.pakusalumninetwork.com/grants) 1. All registered and verified exchange alumni in Pakistan are eligible to apply for the grant. 2. Interested applicants must submit a 60-second video explaining his/her proposal along with the application form. Click here for more details. 3. The maximum funding available is US$10,000 (equivalent in local currency at the prevailing exchange rate). PUAN may award a grant at a higher amount in limited circumstances. 4. The maximum duration for this project is three (3) months from the date of signing the Grant
Award Document (GAD). 5. Funding will be released in two installments; 80% after signing of GAD and submission of Project Inception Report, and remaining 20% after submission of all project completion reports. 6. As with all PUAN grants, if any member is found to be using and/or engaging in fraudulent or coercive practices, their membership from the network will be suspended and legal action may be taken.
