SCOPE YMCA East Palo Alto is LEED Gold certified, and their mission is to strengthen the community by improving the quality of life and inspiring individuals and families to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind, and body. They have many facility features, and one of them is for teenagers, The Spot. It is a room mainly used by teenagers after school time, and it is used by the elderly in the morning time. But this room was in need of renovation to create a comfy and attractive environment for teens. Also, the room has to provide different settings for presentations and workshop besides daily setting.

Ambient light is provided by carefully distributed 4” recessed light fixtures.

At the lounge area, two rustic LED pendants with warm lights add some interest and flank the Cafe logo.

Cafe Logo and focal wall art are highlighted by a strip of led lights mounted underneath to create a glowing effect.

Hanging pendants are used in different seating areas as decorative and task lighting. Some were used in grouping while others as a single light fixture. They add visual interest as well as warm light that can be dimmed to set a different mood throughout the day.

Bathroom Design San Bruno Tools Sketchup Pro, AutoCad, Hand Render Projetc Type Residential

SCOPE This master bathroom used by a couple who lives in San Bruno. They wanted to have a more accessible and efficient layout with more light coming into space. The other issue was the humidity to be needed to solve.

46

| FS Interior Design Portfolio

47

Schematic Design SCHEMATIC DESIGN

Original Floor Plan •

The original layout of the space was not working for the couple. Although there are two windows to bring sunlight to the bathroom because of the wall between vanity and tub decreases the efficiency of the sun and makes the room a little bit dark.

The other thing was the placement of the door which lefts little room to move around the vanity.

The client wanted to have a shower instead of a tub to make it more accessible to move.

48

Proposed Flow

49

Floor FLOORPlan PLAN

Floor Plan

50

| FS Interior Design Portfolio

The door is moved to the left instead of center.

Vanity size changed and chose a compact size to save space.

The tub is removed and shower is added.

The closet is placed closer to vanity. (Required outlet is placed close to the wash-let closet)

Old window above tub removed and new vertical frosted window added in the shower area.

Curb-less shower entrance is specified to increase the accessibility and for more aesthetic design.

A clear glass door is placed to shower to prevent water splash from the shower.

Shower slope is added toward the linear drain to prevent water from going through the bathroom.
