MacDermid presents ZinKlad® at Fastener Fair USA Surface treatments are vital for increasing the lifespan of fastener components, as well as improving the quality and ultimate end user experience. At Fastener Fair USA 2018, MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions will present its range of cutting edge surface finishing solutions for various automotive applications.
inKlad®, MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions’ unique quality assurance programme, will be the company’s main focus at the show. Used and approved by renowned automotive companies worldwide, the programme includes a variety of performance levels and audit processes, to ensure its global applicators meet the growing industry demand for consistent, high performance surface coatings. Across the two day event, a range of MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions’ ZinKlad coatings for anti-corrosion specification will be on show including: ZinKlad 750: An electroplated deposit especially designed for electrical grounding fasteners in automotive applications. The first of its kind available to the market, ZinKlad 750 consists of 70% – 75% tin that can resist 23 cycles of GMW14872 cyclic corrosion testing or 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray testing. ZinKlad 1000: For use on exterior fasteners for superior quality and appearance. Compared to organic-based alternatives, ZinKlad 1000 offers more control over the thickness of coatings. Additionally, compared to other electroplated sacrificial coatings, it also reduces the effect of hydrogen embrittlement. ZinKlad 1000 B: Delivers the same high corrosion resistant performance as ZinKlad 1000, while providing a glossy black appearance. The finish is used by OEMs across the world for its consistent, aesthetic appeal. ZinKlad 250: The original hexavalent chromium-free finish for powertrain fasteners. With low total film thickness and consistent coefficient of friction properties, ZinKlad 250 offers superior corrosion and abrasion resistance. ZinKlad 72: Used in engine and gearbox applications to give fasteners predictable coefficient of friction properties. The coating provides applicators with several advantages including economical low consumption, cost-effective working temperature and reduced sludge formation.

A spotlight on the inspection of tomorrow Angor-Intools is partnering up with Italian-based Dimac Srl and exhibiting at the upcoming Fastener Fair USA – displaying their very latest technologies and products. Experts will also be on hand to discuss how both companies can participate in cost reduction within supply chains, and how they can offer new, alternative, cost-effective solutions.
ere Andrew Dreger, owner of Angor-Intools, and Massimo Agrati, general director at Dimac, discuss their plans for Fastener Fair USA, which will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, from 11th – 12th April 2018. Both companies are dedicated to developing alternative solutions and promoting innovation in the fastener industry.
What is your forecast for Fastener Fair USA? Andrew Dreger: “Fastener Fair USA in Cleveland is a truly global supplier sourcing opportunity and gives us the chance to build business with the key international players of the fastener industry supply chain, especially in an essential market for our segment such as the United States.”
What can visitors expect to find at the Angor-Intools and Dimac stand? Andrew Dreger: “As always it is an opportunity to come together and experience the latest developments in inspection and sorting. We will present our material handling equipment, belt conveyors, and automatic packing solutions developed in cooperation with Dimac, such as AVBC-BOX and L-BOX.” Massimo Agrati: “At Fastener Fair USA we will focus on the latest software upgrades we have introduced at Dimac, which are available for a variety of applications. For instance, the new MCVx program offers very accurate optical measurement; the MCVx Remote offers remote inspection and sorting management; and the Volume Plus is an advanced predictive forming control tool.”
What other highlights will you focus on at Fastener Fair USA? Massimo Agrati: “We will present the restyled and modernised releases of MCV1 and MCV5 at the Cleveland show. MCV1 is a high productivity index and continuous rotary table machine that marked a turning point on quality control over 20 years ago. It is renowned for its efficiency and high technology when inspecting a wide spectrum of cold forged and turned parts, using high resolution optics and advanced NDT device – guaranteeing to obtain all the indicators to approach 100% OK parts. We are working to clothe it newly, increasing its performances and facilities. The MCV5 glass rotary table model is following the same footsteps. The MCV5 is probably the most efficient machine we produce – with great performances, including the ultimate high-speed eddy current heat treatment detection station.” www.dimacsrl.com
