WORK EXPERIENCE Maintenance Engineer, General Motors of Canada Limited Oshawa, ON Chassis/Final Assembly May 2011 – October 2011 & May 2012 – September 2012 • Responsible for supervising and organizing responsibilities for a group of 25 mechanics and Electricians. • First response to production equipment breakdowns, responsible for assessing the breakdown, communicating the failure to the mechanics and electricians, ensured a timely repair and main communication to production supervisors. • Worked with a group of five engineers and three contract companies on a $2.8 Million dollar project to replace mechanical and hydraulic equipment during a two week shutdown. Worked efficiently to co-ordinate and supervise manpower, installation and diagnostic of new equipment. • Optimized Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project also specified maintenance tracking software such as Maximo 7.0 and SAP. • Worked with higher level management to resolve current issues with equipment affecting production, performed root cause analysis, worked with engineers to find solutions and implemented solutions during weekend or non-production shifts. Project Engineer, General Motors of Canada Limited Oshawa, ON Body in White (Weld) November 2011 – January 2012 • Managed a 6 month, $1.0 million project of incorporating the new Cadillac XTS into the current production line. Ensuring weekly targets were met specified safety standards. • Worked with a variety of manufacturing equipment and systems, PLC control robots, conveyor systems, error proofing, And-On, Pneumatics and Hydraulics. • Held weekly meetings with engineers from head offices in Michigan to communicate project updates, resolved problems and ensured the project met multiple deadlines. • Used skills in AutoCAD and UGS NX7.0 to develop drawings and presentations for new tooling, product presentation to operator and robotic simulations. VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE UOIT Motorsports- Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Volunteered for UOIT’s Formula SAE Team, UOIT motorsports for four consecutive years and held different positions throughout the period. In 2010 responsible for lead drivetrain was responsible to design and incorporate a drivetrain assembly into the new design. I was responsible for a group of 5 students working with me to complete the Design. In 2011 I became Business manager of the team responsible to raise $60,000.00 of funding and services to ensure the team had appropriate finances to compete. In 2012 I became co-project manager overseeing all operations of the team and working with a team of 30+ students to ensure completion of the 2013 model for an international competition at Michigan International Speedway in May 2013. UOIT Team Orientation Crew (TOC) Volunteered at UOIT to help prepare and create a new exciting, comfortable, and fun environment for first year students as they entered university.
