Very eventful show for machinery dealer Lincolnshire- and Yorkshire-based dealer Peacock and Binnington scooped a hat-trick of awards at June’s Lincolnshire Show. The trio comprised the Leverton Cup for the best agricultural stand, the Gordon Spratt Memorial Trophy for the stand with the most welcoming experience and best hospitality, and the Hugh Bourn President’s Trophy for the best stand in the whole show. Managing director Graham Main says: “The trophies are a great reward for the effort put in by the girls and guys welcoming visitors to our stand and for making it the best in show, something we’ve never achieved before.” The company was especially pleased to welcome onto the stand George Eustice MP, Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. He met with chairman Michael Peacock, discussing Brexit and the future of UK farming outside the EU. Despite the high temperatures over the two-day event, the stand attracted crowds of visitors, not only to view the machinery on display, but also the stunt trials bike show performed by 16-year-old Will Ackerley.

Will, the son of one of the company’s farming customers from Pocklington, has been riding pedal trials bikes for the past six years and is now one of the best young juniors, not only in Great Britain but also Europe. Last year he was invited by British Cycling to ride for GB in the World Championships. His true passion is competitive trials, but he has also started doing shows, both solo and as part of a team. As one of his main sponsors, Peacock and Binnington booked him to perform both at the Lincolnshire Show and the Driffield Show in July.
