Tyres & Tracks

The right match for tracked equipment

Tyres to inspire BKT says that Agrimax Force, its high-end tyre, “comes to the growers’ rescue”, avoiding the loss of a great deal of soil fertility from being hardpacked and compacted by wheeled equipment. The tyre, it says, is a winning combination of flexibility, efficiency and productivity, possessing all the ideal characteristics for equipping high-horsepower tractors and floating gently on the soil. Using so-called IF technology that’s been further developed by BKT, the Agrimax Force works at low inflation pressures, thereby reducing the phenomenon of soil compaction. Optimising soil tillage for cultivation purposes is now possible thanks to the Agrimax Fortis. This tyre improves soil performance, and ensures the utmost comfort, even when carrying heavy loads, says BKT. Another range in the same product family is the Agrimax RT 855, a tyre that BKT says is remarkable for its driving comfort, high traction and excellent self-cleaning features, in addition to fast transfer from field to road. “outstanding” flotation complete its distinctive features, making it “perfect” for preserving crop productivity. Meanwhile the Agrimax RT 765 is a radial tyre made of a new-generation compound designed to operate under the harshest conditions. Thanks to its resistance to cuts and wear, it’s ideal for tractors engaged in heavyduty operations. The RT 857 uses polyester belts, a strong casing and a special tread compound, protecting it from stubbles and the risk of punctures and cuts. Another tyre described as perfect for the specific purpose of soil tillage is the Agrimax RT 657. The main strengths of this versatile and reliable tyre are comfort, exceptional grip and resistance. Suitable for field work and road transport alike, it’s made of a special compound enabling the vehicle to travel long distances and significant savings to be made in operating costs. ■

Eurotrack is a family-run business specialising in the supply of replacement agricultural rubber tracks and wheels for highhorsepower tracked tractors and harvesters. Based in the UK, it’s the main European aftermarket distributor for Camso agricultural tracks and wheels, Superior Tire & Rubber Corp’s wheels and Kile Clear View Caps. Camso, formerly Camoplast Solideal, has recently launched two products that Eurotrack is particularly excited about. Offering many benefits over the standard 30in track, the 32in Quadtrac track is proving to be particularly popular with its customers such as Norfolk-based Turnstone Farms. Manager Adrian Howell says: “We have a pair of the 32in Camso tracks fitted to our Case Quadtrac 580. “The new tracks have worn extremely well, despite the abrasive nature of the lighter soils and large distances travelled on public highways. “The 32in tracks are on the rear

and able to give good traction for the heavy cultivations, while lowering the ground pressure and therefore reducing compaction in the seedbeds. “The tracks have proved to be maintenance free, and have run true with no adjustment since fitting from new, the tractor having clocked 1,200 hours since it arrived on the farm 12 months ago,” Adrian adds. Camso has also recently launched an entry-level range of tracks for low-use friction-drive tractors, available soon at very competitive prices, says Eurotrack. The company also offers Superior Agritraxx polyurethane midrollers that generate less heat for a longer service life, and come with a lifetime bonding warranty. To date Eurotrack has sold more than 3,000 of these wheels with only one warranty claim. It also continues to offer Kile Clear View Caps which make it easy to view and maintain correct oil levels of the idler and midrollers. The ability to check oil level and clarity can prevent downtime and replacement of costly parts.
