Aspen Grove Ranch Aspen Grove Ranch, within the shared ranch community of Grand River Ranch, includes 350 acres of spectacular Rocky Mountain High Country in Colorado’s beautiful Middle Park. Just a two hour drive from Denver and minutes from the jet accessible airport in Kremmling, this magnificent property offers the very finest in natural setting and owner’s residence.

Volume 60 Farm&Ranch West

Colorado v Grand County v Kremmling

Aspen Grove’s 24,000-square-foot family lodge was designed to conform to the land’s topography, as well as to capture the entire panorama and breathtaking views of the surrounding Gore and Williams Fork Mountain Ranges and of the expansive valley below. Renowned architect Jon Gunson skillfully brought the owner’s vision to reality. The home’s plan serves three primary functions – a private wing for the owners, a spacious and dramatic gathering, dining and activity area and a connected guest house. This led to the overall concept of three structures, placing the main house in the center with the master suite and guest house on each side, connected by bridges Volume 60 Farm&Ranch West

and each angled toward the three primary views. Only the highest quality finishes and furnishings were used throughout the lodge, making it a home of refinement, elegance and comfort. In addition, dead standing trees were used for certain design and structural elements, lowering the environmental impact of construction. Some of the home’s special features include a stone wine cellar, western style bar, enormous fireplace, movie theatre, two automatic bowling lanes and a children’s performance stage and dressing room. The landscape plan is as beautiful as the home’s interior, with a covered bridge, cascading waterfalls, ponds and stone decks. From these outdoor living areas, the splendor of the Rocky Mountains can be enjoyed – dramatic sunrises and sunsets, wildlife, rainbows and star gazing. The acreage also lends itself beautifully to hiking, horseback riding, hunting, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. An incomparable retreat has been created. Aspen Grove Ranch is one of seventeen ranches within the 18,000-acre shared ranch community of Grand River Ranch. Each ranch has its own unique character and multiple designated home sites, with Aspen Grove having a total of three. The Homeowner’s

Association maintains a master grazing lease on the greater ranch which provides landowners the opportunity to run cattle on their property, maintaining agricultural status with related favorable property tax rates. There are five common area amenities at Grand River Ranch that are owned and enjoyed by all owners: Grand River Ranch Lodge – The rustically elegant lodge boasts commanding views of the Gore Range. At 5,000 square feet, it includes beautifully furnished living and fine dining areas, a cozy bar, outdoor decks, a massive log fireplace and five handsomely appointed guest suites. Grand River Ranch Fishing Camp – A charming mountain cabin, for day or overnight use, sits ashore a 22-acre lake where native cutthroat, brown and rainbow trout await the beginner or expert angler. Fishing gear, small watercraft and experienced fishing guides are available. Tail Water Fishing Camp – This fine tail-water fishery is also home to rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Two lovely cabins for day and overnight use are located in the Tail Water Camp. Fly-fishing gear and guides can be arranged. Ranch Headquarters and Equestrian Center – Ranch Headquarters welcomes owners and guests and serves as an additional venue for social gatherings. The Equestrian Center provides indoor and outdoor stalls, tack room and equestrian professionals for trail rides and lessons. Sporting Clays Shooting Range – Twin sets of a regulation ten-station shooting range afford the opportunity to shoot or work on honing your skills. There is also a target range with long and short-range targets. In addition, Aspen Grove Ranch is only a sixty to ninety-minute drive from the renowned resorts of Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Vail, Beaver Creek and Steamboat Springs. Aspen Grove Ranch must be seen to be truly appreciated. Call now to arrange a tour of this amazing property. Offered at $28,500,000

BEST WEST of the

powderhorn Land and Cattle Corp. Idaho v Kootenai County v Harrison

Volume 60 Farm&Ranch West

What the owner had in mind was building a family retreat and dude ranch all in one. His fascination with the old west and the appeal of a family compound inspired the building of the ranch as it is today. With privacy as its main goal, this beautiful ranch has been 40 years in the making, starting with a 35-acre parcel that had the original 1910 Settler’s cabin on it, buying up an additional 9 parcels bringing the total to 809 acres, 600 in timber and 200 in pasture land. The main house is built of Old Growth Yellowstone timber from the 1995 fire. His dream home took two years to build. The home has 13 bedrooms and 11.5 baths. Great detail was paid to every aspect of the home, from the 40-ton river stone fireplace with mosaic scenes of Lake Coeur d’Alene, to the amazing handcarved columns that support the home. Having a very large family and many grandchildren, the house is built to accommodate large family gatherings. The kitchen was built so that many people can be cooking at the same time with a formal dining room that can seat 20 guests comfortably. The great room is a place for evenings filled with games and entertainment or just to cuddle up with a good book and glass of wine. The ranch also has a 3000-square-foot ranch manager’s home that is sometimes used as an overflow for guests. The Settlers cabin was restored and also used as a guest house. The four equipment sheds house all of the farming equipment and horse tack for the ranch. A firm believer in being prepared, the owner has two of everything so that break-downs never slowed the maintenance of the ranch. The ranch has many trails for horse riding or snowmobiles and plenty of wild life for even a most avid hunter. The ranch also has a walk-in meat locker for the all the game you can hunt. Northern Idaho has many beautiful lakes and mountains but not many ranches of this caliber. Powderhorn is unique unto itself.

White Oak Ranch & Vineyard

The White Oak Ranch and Vineyard is California’s premiere wine country estate where Mediterranean refinement blends with western tradition. The White Oak is a largescale production vineyard that affords the discerning buyer the opportunity to step into this quintessential lifestyle at a level that rarely comes to market. The White Oak’s Villa is an architectural masterpiece down to the most minute detail. Looking out from the villa’s balcony, the land rolls itself out into a sea of vineyards with manicured ponds and islands of heritage oaks rising along the horizon while the sun plays itself off against the distant mountain range as it has throughout the millennium. The White Oak’s 255 acres comprises over 130 acres of productive vineyards that are sold to some of California’s finest wineries. Supporting this scale of operation is an equally impressive infrastructure made up of office and distribution facilities, barns, works shops and warehousing, workers’ housing, fenced pastures, corrals, pumps and water distribution network, etc. A separate pool, spa and full workout facility lies at the ranch’s north end while the ranch’s wooded south end pays heed to its western heritage with a professional equestrian arena,
