Hakka Folk Museum

The site is located in the new community of Heyuan city. Heyuan is the birthplace of Hakka culture, so we want to provide more opportunities for tourists from all over the world to know more about this Chinese traditional culture and help to improve the environment through our design. In the sight of plan, our inspiration comes from Tulou, the traditional Hakka architecture style. We also build up plant areas on the mountains. These trees have the stronger adaptation which can help to restore the ecosystem. Under this kind of zoological reconstruction method, we are sure that after several years, this area can be a flourishing landscape result. We achieve the target of the harmony for the human and nature.

Memorial Plaza Design WW I Design Competition Type: Competition Duration: 2015.6 (Two Weeks) Tutor: Prof. Li Xianfeng Site: Washington, DC, the U.S. Area: 0.68 hectares

Project Description The proposal for the new WW I Memorial in Pershing Park pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of American servicemen and women who participated in the war. At the same time, I forge functional and perceptual linkages to the pathways, streets, and civic spaces and architectural landmarks around the site. Heroes' Green seamlessly blends memorial, park, and garden into a new type of public space. A highly integrated composition of topography, paths, walls, and plants create a landscape of dynamic views. And these landscape elements contribute to the park composition and strengthen the park's relationship to the larger urban context.

Urban Landscape Type: Coursework Duration: 2014.11-12 (Five Weeks) Tutor: Prof. Changqing Site: Tampa, Florida, the U.S.

Project Description This site is a riverside area in Tampa, Florida. The Hillsborough River is natural amenity running through the city, which has no great presence due to a lack of pedestrian connectivity and civic spaces linking the city grid to the river. Facing such problems, I developed three strategies focusing on ecology, infrastructure and connectivity. Specifically, I adopted a river- oriented plan that protected urban ecosystem, bringing the river into the city and vitalizing the tourism industry.

In July and August, the floods occur seriously. In July, the place is in the rain in the half of the time, and the rainfall reaches 197.4mm. The surface of the road is often covered by the water. The problems of City water-logging should be paid more attention to.

Vacancy Analysis

The central business district in downtown, which is less crowded after 5p.m. and on weekends, has a distinctly rural-urban condition, which includes over 50% surface parking lots, and now redfields of foreclosure lots or land assembled by developers which have not been developed and in bankruptcy.

The idea based in a natural geographic terrace called delta where is the transition region from land to river.

The "green delta" acts as the close bond between Hillsborough River and the city.

The "green delta" consists of the green artery along the Hillsborough River. 19

The innovative design ideas employ connective urban landscapes and ecological infrastructure as an underlying urban design framework. This framework can act as a catalyst for the economic redevelopment for Tampa. And at the same time, it can physically reconnect a disparate, fragmented city and bring the river into the city. 20
