A Personal Story Of Success 1. How and when was your company Love Raw Treats born? The company was born in August 2015. After suffering from10 miscarriages and a failed IVF cycle which coupled with my anxiety, I was completely debilitated. I was always at the Doctors wondering what was wrong with me. I finally found an amazing friend Patrice Corrie who helped me find the right people (including herself) through her theta healing® techniques. I had the MTHFR gene, intolerances to gluten and dairy and parasites in my digestive system.

I surrounded myself with amazing services ranging from a holistic doctor, Dr Ameeta Gajjar, Alison Parsons and Sara Winchester kinesiologist/Chiro at Oasis Health. In order to do a complete parasite cleanse, my system needed a good clean up and to be sugar free. I began making treats that weren’t available in the market place initially for myself, then for my family and friends and then for Patrice ‘s theta healing® courses then it just went from there I released my creativity side. I’m in such a great place now. 2. What makes your treats unique in today’s market? When making ‘Love Raw Treats’ treats, I use only premium quality ingredients. Everything is free from gluten, dairy, soy, refined sugars, additives and preservatives. All my treats are handcrafted by me and made with a lot of love. Everything is made from scratch so that I ensure the treat is exactly how I planned it should be – clean from all of the additives that seem to make people feel sick. All nuts are toasted to bring out the best of there flavours as well as adding a little more crunch.

12 | familyliving magazine

3. Can you give us an overview of the treats you currently have available? Slices Peanut Snickers, Raw Caramel, Raw Cherry Slice, Raw Ferrero Brownies Walnut Paleo Brownie, Pecan Paleo Brownies with caramel coconut butter and pecan/walnuts on top Cakes Muffins in a variety of flavours, Banana Bread, Orange Jaffa cake, Lemon Honey and Almond cake. All cakes are

made with almond meal and no eggs. Ice Creams Variety of flavours made with coconut milk This is a summary of my current treats but I have many more in recipe development stage so treats can be rotated to keep interest fresh. 4. Where can readers get their hands on your delicious treats? Every second Friday I am at “The Beaches Markets” located at Pittwater Rugby Park, Warriewood. Good produce will ensure repeat business or You can buy directly from me. I rely mostly on word of mouth Love Raw Treats website is a ‘work in progress’ 5. Do you cater for events, birthday parties etc? I would love to. At the moment it is mainly for small parties, offices, events and birthday’s but given the opportunity I could cater for much larger numbers 6. What plans have you got for the future of Love Raw Treats? My business goal is to make ‘Love Raw Treats’ a boutique producer of delicious love goodness which will fulfil a market niche and provide people who suffer from food intolerances with yummy treats. I would also love to teach other people how to reach there full self love potential with private theta healing, wellbeing and lifestyle consultations. PILATES SESsIONS RUN BY QUALIFIED PHYSIOTHERAPISTS Located in Mona Vale in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, we enjoy developing individualised programs tailored to each person in order to achieve the benefits that come from doing Pilates. This is a big difference between doing Pilates at Fix & Flex versus doing it in other settings. After completing a thorough assessment, a personalized program that is unique to your body, needs and goals is developed for you by a qualified physiotherapist. We then progress the exercises as you become stronger and as your body becomes more able. Your session can be as gentle or as challenging as you want, whether you are suffering from pain, recovering from surgery, pregnant or an elite athlete. We use traditional Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, and Mat, and also newly developed equipment called the SurfSet® and CoreAlign®.

Finance & Mortgage Broker www.therockpoolpeople.com PH-8005 6001

WHY SHOULD I USE A FINANCE OR MORTGAGE BROKER? Finance and mortgage brokers act as your agent in a sometimes confusing and overcrowded market. That means, they are working on your behalf to find the best home loan or finance deal from a large array of lenders to suit YOUR personal or business circumstances. While it can often be an option to borrow money from your existing bank or building society they may not necessarily offer the best deal for your requirements. Particularly if you are looking for finance for your business or for commercial property. So finance brokers not only act as a comparison service to find you the best deal, but once that deal has been found they manage the application process on your behalf. Often their knowledge of the lending policies of different lenders can be the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful application.

save you money due to their knowledge of who has the best deals.

WILL IT COST ME ANYTHING TO USE A BROKER? No, it shouldn’t. With the possible exception of some vehicle and asset finance loans most broker’s commissions are paid by the lenders once a loan is settled. In fact, using a broker should

SHOULD I BE LOOKING TO REFINANCE MY MORTGAGE? Interest rates have reduced a lot over the past month, with lenders seemingly trying to outdo each other with some of their offerings. So if we can find a lender who is offering a much better deal than

16 | familyliving magazine

HOW DO BROKERS DIFFER FROM EACH OTHER? Generally, brokers have access to the same interest rates and loan products, certainly with the well-known lenders. The real difference between brokers comes down to knowledge and understanding of those products, and how your borrowing needs fit in with the rest of your personal and financial aims and goals. This knowledge and understanding affects the level of service a broker can provide. At The Rockpool People we believe we score very highly on this! We also have a strong sense of community and social responsibility and support several small non-profit groups via the commission we earn from lenders.

your current mortgage provider then it could be worth switching depending on any costs involved. By switching lender and restructuring your loans you may not just save money each month but it might even be possible to fund renovations or improvements. IS IT A GOOD TIME TO BE INVESTING IN PROPERTY? This is a very tough question and the answer depends on your circumstances, goals and timeline. As we mentioned, interest rates are very low at the moment, even for investment property. But rental returns in much of Sydney are also very low. There are certain pockets of the country that are still experiencing good capital growth, but to access this we would recommend speaking to a property buyer’s agent. We’d be happy to put you in touch with

someone. We see property investment as a long term investment proposition. If you make good choices, structure your financing correctly, have a savvy accountant (we can put you in touch with one!), and importantly have patience, then property can be a sound addition to your overall investment portfolio. Investing in commercial property may also be worth considering depending on your circumstances. HOW CAN WE GET IN TOUCH WITH THE ROCKPOOL PEOPLE? We always love a chat about how we can help people.
