“Stand on Guard” Original Acrylic

Lot 0

27”x33” Acrylic by Lorna Matsuda This original acrylic by Lorna Matsuda features the beauty of the warmblood horse against the patriotic background of the Canadian flag. The artwork used for the Fall Classic Breeders’ Sale poster and catalogue cover is offered as the first lot at the sale. The painting is framed and ready for hanging.

Artist: Lorna Matsuda A Canadian artist, Lorna Matsuda was originally born in Ontario but now proudly calls Alberta home where she felt an immediate connection with the west. The western lifestyle, with its unlimited resource of beautiful landscapes, wildlife, and culture, offered great inspiration for the artistic impressions seen in many of her works of art. It’s been said that Lorna’s love for all animals, especially horses, was inherited from her grandparents who were very dominant horsemen in the community where she grew up. Horses have always been her first love for as long as she could remember which has affected her actions both professionally and recreationally throughout her life. As a constant voice for animal rights, she has donated many works over the years to various organizations to help stop abuse against animals. Lorna has had the opportunity in the past decade to dedicate herself to the serious pursuit of her passion. This dedication has allowed her to share her many artistic impressions offered through various mediums such as paper, canvas, bone, leather, wood, and stone. Sire: Of all of his sons, WOLKENSTEIN II is one WELTMEYER’s best. The 2009 Hanoverian handbook indicates that WELTMEYER has 46 licensed sons and many offspring entered in the German elite auctions. WOLKENSTEIN II has a dressage breeding index of 144 and jumping of 99. In terms of conformation and movement, his offspring rank among the best. WOLKENSTEIN II passed away in 2011, but there are a number of videos available on YouTube as well as information on his show successes and those of his offspring. Dam: M3 APHRODITE is out of M3’s first warmblood foal, TIA MARIA. This mare line consists of 3 Premium mares. Aphrodite was produced for the broodmare band and has not competed. She has produced two wonderful foals, both sired by WOLKENSTEIN II and both improving on her. Aphrodite’s dam sire is ARTENSTOLZ, a Westfalen stallion. Following a successful jumping career in Europe, he was an FEI level dressage champion competing at Prix St George and Intermediare I in Canada with his amateur owner. Notes: M3 WOLKENLILLY looks very much like her sire, WOLKENSTEIN II. She has a very strong frame and moves well underneath herself, with lots of elevation. Lilly has had regular handling from birth and is starting her under-saddle work with Jenneke Hoogendoorn this year. We expect that she will excel in dressage as both her sire and dam sire have. Lilly’s pedigree consists of 7/8 Hanoverian bloodlines, mostly dressage types, but there are jumpers represented as well.

Sire: GROSSO GOLD is an elegant Hanoverian stallion with extremely valuable bloodlines who was imported by Equitop Farms. His grandsire GROSSO Z has not only produced the international jumping star GOLDFEVER (Ludger Beerbaum) but also several Grand Prix dressage competitors including GOETHE (Heiner Schiergen). His dam, JULIOS ROSCHEN, contributes the legendary English Thoroughbred, JULIO MARINER, Jos Lansing’s LIBERO and CALYPSO II. This mare’s family was awarded the title of “Elite Family 1A” by the Hanoverian Verband. Dam line relatives are STAKKATO GOLD, SCHWARZGOLD, and WERTHERROESCHEN (international show jumper at Jan Tops). GROSSO GOLD’s full sister, GROSSOS ROESCHEN, passed the mare performance test in 2007 by the Hanoverian Verband with an impressive mark of 9.5 in jumping and an overall mark of 8.7, proving to be the best out of 59 mares. GROSSO GOLD passed the stallion inspection with ease, earning a 9 for scope and jumping technique. In 2008 he won the 5/6 year old class at the Free Jumping Challenge and received the highest score (92) of all. GROSSO GOLD has a great character and a positive work attitude. Dam: WYSTERRA has produced many beautiful foals and is a pleasure to ride and to handle. Notes: GARON is a very attractive chestnut gelding with a lot of chrome. He should mature to 16.1-16.2 hh. GARON has three very balanced gaits with an exceptional uphill canter. He also displays a very good jumping technique. He has been under saddle for eight months. GARON is very confident in his work and a pleasure to ride. He is a happy horse with a lot of charisma who would shine in either the hunter jumper or dressage arena. ~ 22 ~

Sire: TACORDE is consistently jumping around huge Grand Prix courses with enthusiasm and more than enough scope. For the third year in a row, he competed at the Spruce Meadows summer series in the extremely competitive FEI divisions with 70+ horses in his classes. This was after a very successful campaign in California where, in the third week, he jumped a clear 1.50m with just one time fault. TACORDE loves to jump and has incredible scope and instinct. This is evident in his offspring, who are well put together with great hind-end connections and incredible canters. TARIFA is no exception. Dam: LIBERTY STREET is a Thoroughbred mare who has been inspected and approved by the CWHBA. She was a nice riding horse, doing dressage and eventing, before becoming a broodmare. On her bottom side, she goes back to VICE REGENT, who was not only a great race horse sire, but is found in the pedigrees of many successful sport horses. Notes: TARIFA is a drop-dead gorgeous, blood bay mare with a ton of chrome! She is a talented jumper who has been to several shows, where she has proven to be very rideable and brave about all kinds of different jumps. She is a pleasure to ride; soft in the mouth, forward-thinking, with an exceptional canter that is not only rhythmical but very balanced, making it easy to find a good distance. TARIFA has her sire’s great instincts for jumping. Combine that with a bit more blood and you have a talented jumper who is very competitive and could also become a great event horse.

Sire: Z. CAMELOT was imported to Canada as a stallion prospect. He is by CONTENDRO and out of a RAMIRO line mare. Z. CAMELOT was sold and gelded for a performance horse prior to completing his stallion approvals. He is showing and doing well in the hunter jumper ring. Dam: DAZZLE is a good moving, wonderfully bred Premium Canadian Warmblood mare by the imported stallion DONNER BUBE, who is by the top dressage competitor DONNERHALL. DONNER BUBE’s offspring have often been the high sellers at auction and his dam line is as strong as his sire line, with PIK BUBE I being a top sire of jumpers and dressage mounts. DAZZLE gave Key Warmbloods many quality foals and was sold in-foal through the Fall Classic Sale. She has gone on to provide her new owners with a 2011 filly that was sold to Mexico as a dressage prospect and the top 2012 filly at the Oldenburg inspection. Notes: DEBUTANTE is a 2008 filly that is all heart and soul. She has the soul of an angel, on the ground or under saddle, and her ground manners are second to none. She has the heart of a competitor, always looking for the next jump. DEBUTANTE was not started until she was four, as the breeder felt she was immature as a 3-yearold. With only 2 ½ months of training, she went to her first 2’9” show (Paramount Show Jumping). Yes, she took to jumping just that quickly. Even though the show environment was completely new to her and she’d only been at her trainer’s for a short while, she never looked at the flags, the flowers, or paid any attention to the show festivities. She just did her job with ears pointed, looking for her next jump. Two weeks later, DEBUTANTE went to her second show (Rocky Mountain Show Jumping) and was in the ribbons in all classes with fields of 25-27 horses. She completed clear rounds and finished 3rd, 5th, and 6th. This young mare has the mind and the talent to take an amateur or semi-professional where they want to go. ~ 24 ~

Sire: DON FREDERICO is a big-framed stallion with an impressive appearance. He was winner at his performance test where he showed remarkable riding horse features, and displayed uphill gaits. At his performance test he scored 9 for character, 9 temperament, 9 trainability, 9 conformation, 9.5 rideability, 7.67 free jumping, 9 walk, 9.33 trot, 9.33 canter and 8.84 for cross country. It is obvious that this stallion is quite outstanding and consequently was placed first in the dressage phase with the amazing score of 151.67, and was second overall in his year with the dressage and jumping scores combined. DON FREDERICO stood out as a young stallion with a very great ability and trainability for dressage. Dam: LILLIAN is a big, correct, huge-moving mare. She has lovely movement that leans towards the way she is bred, by the lovely Hanoverian Stallion ROYAL SENNA. The “R” line in Hanoverians is noted for their rideability. Her grandsire, RUBENSTEIN I, was named stallion of the century, Her granddam is a direct descendant of ARGENTINA. Both bloodlines have produced a great number of world-class performance horses. LILLIAN is out of a Premium Thoroughbred mare, FLEET TUSH, that was one of Buffalo Head Farms’ foundation mares. Notes: DOLCE AND GABBANA has absolutely outstanding movement. This is a supreme upper-level dressage prospect. Tall and elegant, with movement that can only be described as breath-taking. Buffalo Head Farms had wanted to retain this mare as a broodmare but she has too much to offer as a performance horse. If you are a serious dressage rider, don’t miss the opportunity for a partner that will take you to the top! She will be lightly started by sale time. An unfortunate illness in early 2012 ended his life just as he was starting a new career as a junior hunter. His sire HAARLEM was a strong international jumper by the ever-famous VOLTAIRE, long in the top ten sires of FEI horses. His dam SOPHIE (Senorita) is winning in the 1.40m and 1.45m. WHIRLWIND has produced futurity champion foals, Material Class champions, Free Jumping Challenge winners, and now, when they are just old enough to ride, offspring showing successfully in the dressage and hunter rings. He produced 2012 Fall Classic Sale top selling 2-yearold MJ SALSA, who sold to a dressage barn in St Louis. Sire: BLUE HORS ZACK is a stallion of exceptional quality, three outstanding gaits, and the ability to collect. These essential attributes, combined with a fantastic work ethic, make Zack a stallion of choice. As a 3-year-old, Zack was awarded the indisputable KWPN stallion Championship of 2007. Both the champion colt and champion filly at the Blu Hors foal championships were by Zack. He has stamps his progeny with nobility, long-legs, and very good type. BLUE HORS ZACK is out of the most prevailing dressage bloodlines in Holland. His sire ROUSSEAU, also a Dutch performance test winner, is by the international dressage stallion FERRO, who competed at the European championship, WEG, and the Olympics, achieving Dutch Team Silver in Sidney. At the age of five, ROUSSEAU won the stallion class at Hertogenbosch and went on to win silver at the world championships for young horses in Verden. Dam sire JAZZ, the highest ranked dressage sire in the world, is an international Grand Prix horse, and one of the most frequented sires in Holland. Dam: ZAVANI was imported to Canada as a four-year-old by Key Warmbloods. She carries the blood of KRACK C, FLEMMINGH, FERRO, WOLFGANG, FARN, AKTION, and NIMMERDOR in her first four generations of pedigree. ZAVANI was performing at second level dressage in Holland prior to her import. Once in Canada, she scored Premium at the CWHBA mare inspection, and was champion of the Young Horse Riding test with many scores of 8 and 9. Notes: HUROUSSEAU is Zavani’s 4th foal for Key Warmbloods. He is stamped by his sire in type, and his dam and sire in temperament. HUROUSSEAU is a quality representation of elite dressage breeding. With a minimum of 12 FEI and Olympic horses in his first four generations of pedigree, including two traces back to FERRO, it really doesn’t matter what gene pool he draws his talent from, a star he will be. ~ 32 ~

SANDRO HIT also created the incredible jumper SANDRO BOY. Notes: FLORIDA is an impressive bay filly, out of a premium Oldenburg daughter of SANDRO HIT. On her sire’s side is Grand Prix dressage by the notable FLORESTAN as well as Kyra Kyrlund’s MATADOR from 1990 WEG. MATADOR also sired MATADIE, dam to the infamous BLUE HORS MATINE (Andreas Helgstrand). An exciting prospect is a modest description for this elastic, modern filly! ~ 33 ~

In the eight foals the breeder has on the ground by him, every one of them has had his wonderful brain. He truly has it all - ability, courage, beauty, and personality. Dam: CHI CHI LA GRANDE is a hig- quality Thoroughbred mare who raced successfully until she was 6 years old. Notes: BEAUDELAIRE displays the typical BEAU SOLEIL kind and willing temperament, and has been a straightforward horse to handle and start. Sire: WHIRLWIND II has been winning futurities and championships in dressage, jumper, and hunter since he was 4 years old. In 2011 he produced a double clear at 1.20m to help his team win the Team Cup, then finished off the year winning A Hunter in the Mid-West in classics and derbies. An unfortunate illness in early 2012 ended his life just as he was starting a new career as a junior hunter. His sire HAARLEM was a strong international jumper by the ever-famous VOLTAIRE. He produced 2012 Fall Classic Sale top selling 2-year-old MJ SALSA, who sold to a dressage barn in St Louis. Dam: MJ NIKE has a powerhouse pedigree for both performance and breeding. FANTAST, half-brother to BIG BEN, passed on his exceptional jumping talent, producing Grand Prix winner ROULETTE, many hunter champions including BOUNCE, and equitation champions such as MJ GREAT EXPECTATIONS, with a dash of dressage in Prix St George winner MJ BANCOCK. Dam WERAGONIA, an Elite mare, has produced approved sons: FRONTENAC (also a Prix St George winner), MJ FUSION (champion hunter), and approved grandson DAIMLER. Nike won the title of Alberta Champion Mare at inspection. While her progeny are just reaching performing age, they have won futurity and junior horse championships. Notes: MJ FIFA has the pedigree for winning, the movement to do the job, and the disposition to enjoy the ride. She has a great trot with push and quick hocks, and a balanced, uphill canter. She’s quite a big filly and should mature well over 16 hh. MJ FIFA has been very willing to deal with all her jobs. Sire: IKOON was imported to Canada after his abilities in the international Grand Prix ring were proven while competing for Holland on their Nations Cup Team. He has repeatedly proven to be a champion producing sire. In Europe, he has many offspring competing at the national and international levels in show jumping, dressage and eventing. He produces a winning combination of scope and movement. IKOON has had offspring go all the way to the World Cup Finals. His consistency as a sire has been solidified in Canada by producing the CSHA National Foal Champion three years in a row and a KWPN-NA champion jumper yearling for North America. Dam: ROSES FOR GRACE (Gracie) is a wonderful mare with a sweet temperament. She is a California-bred Thoroughbred that was imported to Canada because of her impressive pedigree. Gracie scored well at her Canadian Warmblood inspection and, due to her great conformation, is also approved by the Dutch Warmblood registry. Gracie is a very correct mare with great feet and a super topline. She has depth and a thicker construction than you may think of when you hear the word Thoroughbred. Gracie is an amazing mother and has the size, movement and topline that any performance breeder would envy. Notes: FARRAH is one of the most correct foals the breeder has raised and they are very proud to offer her for sale. She is talented through the jumping chute, demonstrating great scope and bravery. She has big movement that covers the ground with ease. For those looking for a talented young horse with movement, this filly will be of interest to you. FARRAH should finish around 16.2; she has the size, conformation, and temperament to be your next show ring winner! Her full brother DEBONAIR was the high selling two year old at the Fall Classic Breeders’ Sale in 2010. Sire: EARL is from the same dam line that produced dressage horse WHITNEY (by WATZMANN) and the licensed stallion WITTFIELD (by WATZMANN). ESCUDO I stands for jumping ability and beautiful, elastic gaits. LANTHAN, on the dam’s side, is insurance for beautiful conformation and jumping/dressage abilities. EARL received a 9 for his walk, 8 for his trot, 8.5 for his canter, and 9 for his willingness to work. He convinced at the performance test by all criteria, especially with his rideability and willingness to work. He impressed because of his marvelous topline; his well-shaped, correct, and harmonious riding horse conformation; and his perfect character. EARL’s test results confirm his dual-purpose tendency. In 2002, EARL became the champion of the 2002 Stallion Performance Test. He scored 143.91 overall, 139.93 (2) in dressage, and 127.55 (3) in jumping. Dam: LATTE III is a very nice Canadian Warmblood mare that is a granddaughter of LANDGRAF. Her career has been limited to broodmare because of an injury as a foal. The inspector’s comments at her inspection were, “great hind-end movement, lovely head, neck, and top-line”. Notes: EN ROUTE is a big, correct, super-minded colt that is “en route” to a wonderful career as a sport horse. This colt is a full brother to ESPRESSO who is currently competing 4th level in the US with his owner Colleen Church McDowall. Check out Colleen and EN ROUTE’s brother, ESPRESSO, on Youtube. ESPRESSO was such a wonderful product that Buffalo Head Farms repeated the breeding and were not disappointed. An easy, laid-back attitude, combined with correctness and big, wonderful uphill movement point this youngster to the dressage arena, but, as his pedigree indicates, he would be equally capable in a jumping venue. Sire: EDWARD displays brilliant basic gaits, fantastic free jumping qualities, and outstanding rideability for which the test riders awarded the highest score of 10 three times at his stallion performance test in 2008. The result was the highest overall score of all competitors of his age group, once more highlighting the fantastic all-round potential of all ESPRI-progeny. The stallion has a special magic: SINGULAR JOTER – SERVUS – GOTTHARD – STEINPILZ, on his dam’s side of the pedigree, underline his show jumping qualities on the one side. SAMPRAS by SINGULAR JOTER, GINGERINO by GRANNUS, ACORDIA N by ACORD II, DASIO VA by DAIMYO xx, AGADIR D by ALME, or CARASH by CALPYSO II confirm this too. And there is a tremendous ability for dressage on the other side. Dam: RASCELLE is a correct, big-framed mare that went First Premium at her mare inspection. This is the second foal she has had for Buffalo Head Farms. The first, SUEDE, placed 2nd in the Stallion Service Auction Foal Futurity in 2011. The breeder thinks EEZEE TOP is going to do his mom and Buffalo Head Farms proud this year. Notes: This colt has outstanding dual-purpose bloodlines (both dressage and jumping) behind him, and to date it looks like he is going to live up to the promise of his pedigree. EEZEE TOP is very well behaved, taking everything in stride without getting too excited about anything. He is very correct and has floating expressive gaits. His sire EDWARD is only available through frozen semen from the State Stud in Celle Germany. EEZEE TOP will be weaned prior to the sale. Sire: DONNER BUBE is an imported Oldenburg. His sire, DONNERHALL, was a top dressage competitor, winning medals in World and European Championships, Horse of the Year honours, and acclaim as a sire. His sons have won Oldenburg stallion performance tests and Federal Riding Horse championships, while his daughters have won championships at the Elite Mare Show as well as Federal Riding Horse championships. The DONNERHALL offspring have often been the high sellers at auction. DONNER BUBE’s dam line is just as strong as his sire line. PIK BUBE I is a top sire of jumpers, dressage mounts, approved sons and Main Studbook mares. GRUNDSTEIN I has sired jumpers and dressage mounts, as well as numerous approved sons. The third dam, ALINDA, is also the dam of the KWPN influence, PURIOSO. Dam: HARMONY II is a lovely mare that moves fluidly through her gaits with great suspension and is a joy to watch. Her correct conformation and fantastic movement earned her first premium status. Her foals inherit these traits along with bold noble dispositions. Notes: DRAMMATICO is a feisty but carefree foal that likes to make an impression. His name means “to play a musical score dramatically”. This pretty much sums up his attitude to life! The great horses GRANDE, ARKANSAS, BAJAZZO, PIK BUBE I and DONNERHALL are brought together to produce a horse that should take you anywhere you want to go.

Dam: MJ JUST DO IT (Justy) has a pedigree with very strong championship dressage breeding, and her movement shows it. Despite a severe injury as a yearling, Justy has an excellent trot and canter which she passes on. OLYMPIC COCKTAIL, WOLFGANG, WEDEKIND are in the first three generations. State Premium mare ARAGONIA, Elite mare WERAGONIA, and Keur mare ELVIRA claim mare power. Close siblings include three approved stallions (FRONTENAC, MJ FUSION and DAIMLER), many Premium mares at inspection, and so many champions at dressage and hunter the list is too long to name. MJ JUST DO IT is a definite producer. Notes: MJ WITHERSPOON, named after Canadian champion speed skater Jeremy Wotherspoon, shares champion qualities. He is willing and forward under tack with great balance, and is showing a calm, smart disposition. He has three excellent gaits, good form over fences, and is definitely showing the ability to follow in his father’s footsteps. ~ 55 ~

Sire: ZENO H2 has proven to be multi-talented like his sire QUATTRO, starting his career as the 4-year-old Material Horse Champion at the Dressage Provincials. Then he switched over to the jumper ring where he had many placings up to 1.30m as a 7-year-old, and now he is becoming a very successful hunter - first in California, where he was reserve champion three times in a row in the green conformation hunters, and then coming back to Alberta and winning champion in both the 1.0m and 1.10m open hunters at his first show. Dam: SAFIA has produced many wonderful show horses for Klondike Victory Farm. Her oldest made a name for himself as a top amateur hunter in Florida, the next one is a hunter here in Alberta, and another filly has been very successful in the dressage arena. Her 4 and 5 year old fillies have both been sold to amateurs as hunter/jumpers. SAFIA consistently throws wonderful minded, easy to train offspring who have excellent movement and jump in beautiful form with a lot of scope and EVER SO LIGHTLY has all of these things. Notes: EVER SO LIGHTLY is a well put together, elegant, young gelding with a lot of athletic ability. He was lightly started in the fall of his 2-year-old year, becoming accustomed to normal barn activities as well as light work both on the ground and under saddle. He was then turned out for the winter/spring to just be a horse, and has now been lightly started back to work with concentration on proper ground work and the basics. EVER SO LIGHTLY is very athletic. He moves with a lot of push from behind, and has his sire’s great canter. Couple this with his phenomenal jumping ability and you have a truly multi-discipline prospect.

On the dam side, both VOLKOM and MANOLETE are prominent Oldenburg sires. In general, it is type and movement that mark the progeny of GERVANTUS II. Dam: M3 DESIREE is a very striking horse, tall and of substantial bone. She received a premium score of 8 on her CWHBA inspection, including a 9 for general impression and development. DESIREE’s pedigree includes DONNERHALL, PIK BUBE, and GRUDSTEIN (a GRAPHIT son) contributing ability in both dressage and jumping. She has both strong and correct gaits and tons of jumping scope. DESIREE has produced four offspring all sired by GERVANTUS and all of premium quality. GO FOR THE GOLD was sold at the fall sale in 2010 and spent the winter in Florida showing dressage. M3 GLIMMERMAN was the Southern Alberta Foal Futurity winner in 2008. Notes: M3 GOT RHYTHM is created in the image of her dam. She has received regular handling from birth and is starting her under-saddle work with Jenneke Hoogendoorn this summer. The breeder expects Rhythm to find her forte in the hunter ring.

Sire: MJ PAX has a very strong jumping pedigree. His sire, FANTAST, is a paternal half-brother to BIG BEN, who won over $1.5 million on the show jumping circuit and was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. PAX’s half-brother, ROULETTE, was winner of the Denmark Grand Prix, 2nd in the Hamburg Grand Prix, and had many top 10 finishes in the European Section. He had a double clear that helped Team Canada win the gold at the 1998 Royal Winter Fair. In his first year of competition, PAX was High Point Starter Hunter in the Alberta Hunter Horse Circuit, won the training level at the Alberta CWHBA breed show, and placed 2nd in the FEI 5-year-old test. Dam: MJ TENDER MOMENTS has produced excellence for the MJ program. Her sire, ABI-SHA POLKA, was an excellent stallion, producing national champions in the breed ring and the open ring in dressage and hunter. She entered the broodmare band as a 3-year-old and has produced MJ JAGUAR, winning in the open ring in both hunter and amateur jumper in the competitive Calgary show arena; MJ MERCEDES, winning for her junior owner in northern Alberta; and MJ INFINITY, winner in pregreen and maiden rider hunter. MJ TENDER MOMENTS has a special place at MJ Farms due to her production of superior daughters and grandsons as well as terrific sport horses that are rideable by amateurs. Notes: MJ MASSAROTTI (Mass) is a big strong gelding with a great disposition. He has three lovely gaits with a lot of suspension, which make him suitable for dressage, and he is willing to jump in good form for the hunter ring. His training has been interrupted by a rider pregnancy but he was willing to wait and safe to get back on very shortly after the baby’s arrival. The few shows he has attended indicate he will accept the job willingly. Mass is simple and will make a great partner for an older amateur or a tall junior. ~ 65 ~

He was started under saddle late in 2010 and ridden 4 months in 2011. When he started growing we turned him out until this summer. Notes: JUNO MP is a bay colt that is going to be very successful in any ring that you choose. This colt has the look of the FANTAST line and the athletic ability of WHIRLWIND. Sire: BEAU SOLEIL is a very elegant product of three top Hanoverian bloodlines – GOTTHARD, GRANDE and ABGLANZ. He has proved to be a pre-potent sire, stamping offspring with his expressive head and refined elegance. BEAU SOLEIL is producing horses of beauty and style for the hunter ring, with excellent gaits and uphill carriage for the dressage ring, and with scope and bravery for the jumper ring. These qualities are combined with a high degree of rideability for which he is well known. With many high-selling auction horses to his credit, such as BRANDY TIME and BLIND DATE, he has established himself as a top sire of versatile horses that can perform in any discipline. Dam: EPONA is a tall, Premium mare by ESPRI and out of ARKANSAS. She is bred the same way as the famous Hanoverian stallions ESCUDO I and II. Bigboned with excellent gaits, she passes on substance and jumping ability to her offspring. Notes: BONA DEA is a well-bred, better quality young mare, which Touchstone would normally keep for their broodmare band. But, given the current economy, it made sense to cut back on breeding, and this has given BONA DEA the opportunity to have a performance career. Her superb temperament has made her simple and easy to train. An outstanding jumper prospect with good movement, scope and technique, she is perfect for a serious competitor or casual amateur.

Dam: LSF AMORE is a great producer, with excellent and consistent foals regardless of the sire. Amore has always been a broodmare, and has proven herself through her foals. Her sire, LAST OMEN, was a consistent winner in the hunter classes until his retirement at 19 years of age. He qualified with a junior rider for the Toronto Royal Winter Fair but was sold prior to the fair qualifications. LAST OMEN is still teaching young riders how to jump fences. Notes: LSF QUINCY is the breeder’s first QUIDAM BLUE foal and they couldn’t be happier. He is a lovely rose grey like his sire with a great personality and is quite a character. Quincy accepts new situations with interest and trust in his handler. He accepts regular vaccinations, deworming, and farrier with no fuss at all and is a real gentleman to handle. Dam: WINDII is a WARKENSON/WODAN mare that traces back to some of the very first warmblood horses in Canada. Her pedigree carries 3/4 Hanoverian bloodlines, including many internationally competitive jumpers and strong dressage horses. She scored a 7 on her inspection and seems to improve every year. WARKANSON foals are said to inherit his wonderful movement and temperament. WODAN produced several international Grand Prix offspring. His gallop stride is huge and he shows a definite desire to jump. His form is fantastic, he is very smart about his legs, and he has chute jumped over 1.50m. He is also a fluid and powerful mover. His foals have all been lovely movers, brave and scopey in the chute, with sweet, even temperaments. Dam: WATCH ME WALK AWAY is an elegant Thoroughbred whose dam is a 3rd generation WAR ADMIRAL granddaughter. Although this mare would have no doubt been a successful race horse with her speed and athletic ability, she was raised as a pet and never saw the track. Notes: QUICKLY RPH is an elegant and refined prospect. He is a lovely mover, with both suspension and cadence. He loves to jump and is super-cute through the chute.
