Third Hour Of Prayer: 9 a.m. Theme: Anointing of the Holy Spirit Prayer Guide: 1. Wait in prayer and worship, asking for and receiving in faith the anointing and filling of the Holy Spirit. 2. Intercede for the body of Christ asking for the priestly anointing of forgiveness and reconciliation to be renewed in and through the church. 3. Intercede for the body of Christ asking for the kingdom anointing so that the good news of forgiveness in Christ will be accompanied by the power of Christ. Scripture: “It was the third hour when they crucified him” (Mark 15:25). “Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, ‘This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high’ ” (Luke 24:45-49). “Again Jesus said: ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven’ ” (John 20:21-23).
