Where did we go?
We hired a car and did a road trip to Amsterdam, Brussels, Strasburg, Zurich, Lucerne, Munich, S zburg, Austria, Prague and Berlin. We then boarded a cruise ship and visited Cartagena, Porto, Lisbon, Tangier, Malaga, Barcelona and then hopped on a train to Madrid.
The road trip was unforgettable – we explored so much and took in the beautiful countryside along the way. The cruise was the perfect way to unwind: unpack, relax, enjoy great food and drinks, and simply have a good time.

Portugese Tarts – In Portugal, these tarts are on another level, with a crispy base and custard.
BitterBallen - These are a classic Dutch snack—crispy, deep-fried balls with a creamy, savo ry filling with a beer!
Stroopwafel - This is a traditional Dutch treat made of two thin, crisp waffle cookies sandwiched together with a rich, gooey caramel filling.
Tapas in Spain - small bite size snacks
Beer — it’s everywhere! More varieties than we could count, sold on every corner, even came with a Hungry Jack’s meal… and somehow, it’s cheaper than water.

Funniest moment...
While on a bike tour in Berlin, we accidentally joined a completely different tour group. Meanwhile, our actual guide was frantically waving and yelling at us from across the road.
Then, on the ride home on our push bikes, a freak storm rolled in out of nowhere and absolutely soaked us. That’s the day we truly understood what Forrest Gump meant by “stinging rain.”

I dream of
When a robot programmed to be a bodyguard breaks out of its programming, and then names itself Murderbot, you’d expect the robot to go on a wild murder spree, destroying everything in its path.
Murderbot, however, just wants to watch terrible serial dramas and be left alone. To do that, though, it needs to not be caught sneaking off during a scientific exploration mission, which has had the audacity to go very, very wrong.
The first novella in the series, All Systems Red is a great introduction to Murderbot, the world it lives in, and all the moral quandaries of a sentient android discovering personhood, choice, and the dangers of oversized insects.
Each of Murderbot’s extremely human companions –scientists, doctors, people who are completely unaware that their robot bodyguard is both sentient and has opinions – are wonderful compliments to Murderbot’s own internal dialogue. For those looking for a simple Sci-Fi with a lot of heart, soul, and internal wiring, All Systems Red is a great choice.
If you like character-driven ci- i with a strong voice and plenty of tension, this one’s for you.
If you enjoyed the first book, check out the rest of the series: Artificial Condition, Rogue Protocol, Exit Strategy, Network Effect, Fugitive Telemetry, and System Collapse.
All Systems Red is available in print, as an eAudiobook on Indyreads and Hooplaand as an eBook on CloudLibrary. The rest of the series is also available to loan in a variety of formats.
