WHO SHOUILD BE BAPTIZED? EVERY PERSON WHO HAS MADE THE DECISION TO BELIEVE IN CHRIST "Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church—about three thousand in all". (Acts 2:41) "But now the people believed Phillip's message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself believed and was baptized". (Acts 8:12,13) WATER BAPTISM The one requirement for baptism is belief in Christ! We do not baptize children until they are old enough to understand and believe. WHEN ARE WE TO BE BAPTIZED? AS SOON AS YOU BECOME A BELIEVER! YOU SHOULDN'T DELAY. "Those who believed...were baptized..." ACTS 2:41 "Then Phillip began with the Scripture and told him the Good News about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water, and the Eunuch said, look here is water! Why shouldn't I be baptized right now? Phillip said, if you believe with all your heart, you may. The official answered, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Then both Phillip and the Eunuch went down into the water. Acts 8

But Jesus replied to him, Permit it just now; for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness [that is, perform completely whatever is right]. Matthew 3:15

WHY SHOULD WE BE BAPTIZED? BECAUSE WE WANT TO FOLLOW CHRIST’S EXAMPLE. "One day Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee. And he was baptized by John in the Jordan River." "And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan". (Mark 1:9) B ECAUSE CHRIST COMMANDED 'Jesus said, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have give you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age". (Matthew 28:19-20)

RISEN TO NEW LIFE IN CHRIST IT IS A REVELATION OF OUR NEW LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN. "What this means is that those who become Christians, become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun"! (II Corinthians 5:17) "For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised form the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives". (Romans 6:4) HOW DOES BAPTISM TAKE PLACE?

BECAUSE IT SHOWS WE ARE BELIEVERS. "Many others in Corinth also became believers and were baptized". (Acts 18:8)

BY BEING IMMERSED IN WATER As Jesus was baptized. "After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit o f God descending like a dove an settling on Him". (Matthew 3:16)

BECAUSE OBEYING CHRIST'S COMMAND SHOWS WE KNOW HIM. "and how can we be sure that we belong to him? By obeying his commands". (I John 2:3)

Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion under water. [example]"... and they went down into the water, and Phillip baptized him. When they came up out of the water".(Acts 8:38-39)

As Christ died and was resurrected for us, so we experience the same victory over the world the flesh and the devil "...that Christ died for our sins... he was buried... and he was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said". (I Cor. 15:3-4) "For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to a new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ fro the dead". (Colossians 2:12)
