Per tale classificazione si fa riferimento alla pubblicazione IEC n. 529, ma tenendo conto di quanto detto nella norma CEI EN 60598-1 ed in particolare, le prove di protezione contro la penetrazione di polvere, corpi solidi ed acqua specificate nella presente Norma non sono tutte identiche a quelle previste nella Pubblicazione IEC 529, a causa delle caratteristiche tecniche degli apparecchi di illuminazione.
