Wastewater treatment and reuse for a Shoe Factory. Wastewater Characteristics: In this sector, normally wastewater results for several types of activities, such as: shoes painting, cutting process and shoes washing. This kind of wastewater usually carries large amount of sand, ink and other suspended solids.

Providing a system to treat and reuse the wastewater for the shoe painting process (equipments washing and booth water filters).Saving money by reducing sewer discharge fees and water consumption costs.

VAMEC set up solution

Wastewater treatment process with following steps : buffer tank, chemical coagulation / flocculation treatment process (VAMEC), sludge dewatering system (PSS) and treated water storage tank. The buffer tank is important to minimize influent variability (both composition and hydraulic) to the buffer downstream waste water treatment process (VAMEC unit).Water level in this tank is controlled by the VAMEC control panel. Chemical treatment will be performed through a settling compact unit (VAMEC) with a continuous chemical coagulation / flocculation treatment.

The VAMEC units include chemical feeding pumps (coagulant, flocculant and neutralizing agent), stirred reactor, pH controller and lamellar device to separate the resulting sludge. Furthermore, the system is controlled with an electric board . This system allows a very efficient depuration, reducing COD and SS, in order to reuse the treated water for several industrial situations such as washing equipments and spray painting booths. The sludge is discharged by a pneumatic pump to a dewatering system composed by low pressure filter bags (PSS units at image 2) .

This system is a low pressure filter bags (PSS units in image 3) that retains the solids.
