Vincent van Gogh cuts off left ear December 23, 1888 Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh was indeed a troubled soul. During a period of severe depression, he cut off his left ear and later documented the act in a painting titled ‘Self-portrait with bandaged ear’. The act would cement him as a tormented genius and he went on to become the poster boy for tortured, starving artists whose work sold in the millions after death.

Make Your Mark
t’s the last weekend before Christmas, so do some good and spread a little cheer by donating to the M*RKologie and Salvation Army Clothing Drive and Fundraiser, which will be held at Market at the Lawn on Sunday, December 23. By donating at least one item of clothing and $300, you will be entered in the raffle for a chance to win a prize from one of the four local designers collaborating with M*RKologie, a local fashion and lifestyle blog. Each additional piece of clothing gives you another entry, so the more clothes donated, the more chances you have to win. This clothing drive brings together the designers White Skyy, Reve Jewellery & Accessories, Tarik & Tif and Yaad Trendz, who have donated special pieces from their collections towards the drive. The winners will be picked at 6pm on the day of the event. A portion of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the Salvation Army to help with their various outreach projects.

In your own words, what is it that you do? ‘A Jack of all Trades.’ I sing, model, write, work here and there, go here and there, not to mention I have my degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I will do just about anything anybody asks me. I try not to limit myself.
How do you normally spend your weekends? I hate to admit it, but I go out a lot. I’m out on the town pretty much every weekend. From Club Privilege to Fiction to KFC, that’s where I’ll be. I attend a lot of parties and lounge at numerous hangout spots. Every pan weh knock, mi deh deh. I’m a ‘Patron of the Streets’ (Lol). I should stay home.
What makes your weekends interesting? I would say that it is my friends that really make my weekends interesting. They are all hilarious and I’m guaranteed that at least one of them will have a master
plan to keep me buzzed and laughing nonstop. I’m sure I will be the one to mess it up.
What is your favourite local hangout on the weekend? I don’t have a favourite hangout spot, but I realise I have been going to Macau a lot. I like their ‘Loaded Fries.’ I’m a food guy. I’m always hungry.
How did you get involved in the music business? I’ve always been into music. It all started in the choir at Mona Prep. Then I started writing my own music in third form, which started out as poems, but I was too afraid to let anyone hear what I had to say. Earlier this year, I met a new producer by the name of Phillip Myers who liked my style of music and I decided to let go and let the ‘world’ hear what I had to say. Luckily I have not received any bad reviews yet, so I’m happy. But when I’m working it definitely affects my weekends. No friends. Just music.
