Game of Truth or Dare Gets Wildly Out of Control Again After 59 hang-up 911 calls in two days, police arrested a southern Nevada man they think made more than 3,600 phantom emergency calls during the past year. Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said Thursday that Tuy Thai, 35, always denied making the calls or blamed them on others using his phone. Paul says Thai later told police his phone dialed 911 by itself. (AP) URBAN LEGENDS

News Unhinges Ohio Children Workers in Cleveland rescued a 2-foot alligator before it froze to death in the city sewer system. The Plain Dealer reported Friday that the animal is recovering and will be kept until a permanent home can be found. ‘What Would You Do for a Klondike Bar?’ Answered Scranton, Pa., police say 24-year-old Steven Johnson was drunk when he walked into a stranger’s home, cooked a steak and helped himself to some clams, crab and shrimp from the fridge while the home’s occupants slept soundly on the living room couch. The man on the sofa woke up and called police after watching Johnson head out the door with some leftovers, a box of Klondike bars and bottles of rum and vodka. (AP)

AT LEAST IT WASN’T ‘CALL ME MAYBE’: People climb a statue Saturday in Rome’s Piazza del Popolo to take pictures of a huge flash mob dancing to “Gangnam Style.” Nearly 5,000 people, most of them teenagers, took part in the event, which started at exactly 4:45 p.m. and lasted the length of the song by South Korean rapper Psy.

Fight on Limiting Filibusters Looms Asia Trip For Obama President Barack Obama will head to Asia on Saturday, becoming the first U.S. president to visit Myanmar and Cambodia. He’ll also visit Thailand during his three-day trip.

Etan Patz’s Murder Case The man charged with murdering Etan Patz, the 6-year-old New York City boy who went missing in 1979, is due to appear in court Thursday. Pedro Hernandez confessed to the killing in May.

Senate Democrats say they can change rules without GOP support Washington A potentially bitter fight over Democratic efforts to curb filibusters is threatening to inflame partisan tensions in the Senate, even as President Barack Obama and Republicans explore whether they can compromise on top-tier issues such as debt reduction and taxes. A potential showdown vote to limit Senate fi libusters would not come

until January. Democrats are threatening to resort to a seldom-used procedure that could let them change the rules without GOP support, all but inviting Republican retaliation. Frustrated by the GOP’s growing use of filibusters, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is considering a Senate vote in the new year to limit their use. “I think that the rules have been abused and that we’re going to work to change them,” Reid, D-Nev., told reporters this past week. “We’re not going to do away with the filibuster, but we’re going to make the Senate a more meaningful place, we’re

Filibusters are a procedural tactic that lets the minority party block bills that lack the support of at least 60 senators. Democrats seem likely to command a 55-45 majority in the new Senate, making 60 a difficult hurdle. The fight over curbing filibusters is looming as President Barack Obama and GOP leaders prepare to hunt for compromise Tuesday on the “fiscal cliff” — the nearly $700 billion worth of tax increases and spending cuts next year that automatically begin in January unless lawmakers head them off. going to make it so that we can get things done.” Democrats say a vote to change the rules would require a simple majority of senators, and they argue that the Constitution lets Senate majorities write new rules for the chamber. That, in effect, would mean Democrats could change the rules over GOP opposition, assuming 51 Democrats go along. They also note that Senate rules require that the body’s procedures can be changed only by a two-thirds majority. ALAN FRAM (AP)

Power Problems Linger in N.Y., N.J. Weeks after Sandy, thousands still wait for their electricity New York Utility companies in New York and New Jersey closed in on restoring power Sunday to the last of the 8.5 million who lost it during the superstorm two weeks ago and a subsequent nor’easter, but tens of thousands of homes and businesses were too damaged to receive electricity, and delays and a dearth of updates have angered residents and government officials alike. Power problems remained unresolved on New York’s Long Island, where about 300 people protested Saturday at an office of the beleaguered Long Island Power Authority. About 130,000 of its customers still didn’t have power Sunday, LIPA said, not including the homes and businesses that were too damaged. “Each day you get a different answer from them,” Carrie Baram, 56, said of LIPA. But thousands in the barrier islands will be without electricity indefinitely because their homes remain too damaged to power up. Utilities say about 19,000 customers are without power, including some who lost service during the nor’easter. That’s down from a peak of 2.7 million in the state during the superstorm. (AP)

Syrian Rebels Settle Unity Deal Under international pressure, opposition forms new coalition Doha, Qatar Syrian anti-government groups struck a deal Sunday under intense international pressure to form a new opposition leadership that will include representatives from the country’s disparate factions fighting to topple President Bashar Assad’s regime, activists said. The opposition has been deeply divided for months despite the relentless bloodshed in Syria and repeated calls from their Western and Arab supporters to create a cohesive and representative lead-

The agreement, reached Sunday after more than a week of meetings in the Qatari capital of Doha, could boost efforts to secure international support — and potentially weapons — that will be crucial in the war to oust Assad. “We have agreed on the broad platform and all [opposition] parties, without any exception, support this initiative,” said Ali Sadr el-Din Bayanouni, who took part in the talks. ‘It Just Doesn’t Add Up’ Who Is Paula Broadwell? Paula Broadwell is a 40-year-old graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an Army Reserve officer. In 2008, while pursuing a doctorate, Broadwell decided to write a case study of Petraeus’ leadership style. Aides were stunned by the close access that Broadwell was granted. Her efforts led to a biography: “All In: The Education of Gen. David Petraeus,” which she co-authored with Vernon Loeb, the local editor of The Washington Post. She is married with two young sons.

DAVID PETRAEUS’ ASCENT Petraeus, a 1974 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, joined the ranks of warrior diplomats by overseeing a rewrite of the Army’s counterinsurgency manual as America’s strategy in Iraq was adrift. President George W. Bush authorized a troop surge to implement the strategy and sent Petraeus to oversee it. President Barack Obama asked Petraeus to take over the Afghan war in June 2010, and he was named CIA director after he retired. He has been married 38 years to Holly Petraeus, with whom he has two adult children. (T WP/AP) INTERNATIONAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE FORCE VIA AP

Lawmakers demand details about an FBI investigation into Petraeus’ affair Washington Members of Congress said Sunday they want to know more about the FBI investigation that revealed an extramarital affair between exCIA director David Petraeus and his biographer, questioning when the retired general popped up in the FBI inquiry, whether national security was compromised and why they weren’t told sooner. “We received no advanced notice. It was like a lightning bolt,” said Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee. The FBI was investigating harassing emails sent by Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell to a second woman. That probe of Broadwell’s emails revealed the affair between Broadwell and Petraeus. The FBI contacted Petraeus and other officials, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper asked Petraeus to resign. Petraeus resigned while lawmakers still had questions about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate and CIA base in Benghazi,

What Prompted the Investigation? The author who had an affair with Gen. David Petraeus sent harassing emails to a woman who was a social liaison to the military’s Joint Special Operations Command, a senior U.S. military official said Sunday. Jill Kelley, 37, received the emails from Paula Broadwell that triggered an FBI investigation. That probe led agents to uncover Broadwell’s relationship with Petraeus, an official said Saturday. Concerned about the possibility of a security breach, the FBI brought the matter up with Petraeus, according to the official.

What Does This Mean for The Benghazi Inquiry? Gen. David Petraeus had been scheduled to appear before congressional committees on Thursday to testify on what the CIA knew and what the agency told the White House before, during and after the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi that left four Americans dead. Deputy director Michael Morell was expected to testify in place of Petraeus. But officials didn’t rule out the possibility that Congress will compel Petraeus to testify about Benghazi later. (AP/ THE WASHINGTON POST )

“I don’t see how in the world you can find out what happened in Benghazi before, during and after the attack if Gen. Petraeus doesn’t testify.” — SEN. LINDSE Y GR AHAM, R-S.C., A MEMBER OF THE SENATE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE, ON SUNDAY DISCUSSING WHY GEN. Libya, that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Lawmakers said it’s possible that Petraeus will still be asked to appear on Capitol Hill to testify about what he knew about the U.S. response to that incident. Rep. Peter King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the circumstances of the FBI probe smacked of a cover-up by the White House. “It seems this [the investigation] has been going on for several months and, yet, now it appears that they’re saying that the FBI didn’t realize until Election Day that General Petraeus was involved. It just doesn’t add up,” said King, R-N.Y. Petraeus, 60, quit Friday after acknowledging an extramarital relationship. The affair will be the subject of meetings Wednesday involving congressional intelligence committee leaders, FBI Deputy Director Sean Joyce and CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell.

Feinstein said on “Fox News Sunday” that she first learned of Petraeus’ affair from the media last week, and confirmed it Friday with Petraeus. She said so far there was no indication that national security was breached. Still, Feinstein called the news “a heartbreak” for her personally and U.S. intelligence operations, and said she didn’t understand why the FBI didn’t give her a heads up as soon as Petraeus’ name emerged in the investigation. (AP)

RUMOR FACT CHECK After Gen. David Petraeus resigned on Friday, rumors began to circulate about a letter in the New York Times magazine in July. The question, titled “My Wife’s Lover,” submitted to “The Ethicist” column was from a husband struggling with his wife’s affair with a “government executive.” It fueled speculation that Paula Broadwell’s husband, Scott, wrote it about his wife and Petraeus. But a Times magazine editor tweeted Sunday that the column “is NOT about the Petraeus affair, based on our factchecking. Strange, I know.” (E XPRESS)

Washington Operating a bus in parts of the District can be hazardous, and the latest example came Friday night when a driver who had just finished work was struck by a bullet. The off-duty driver was hit near the Anacostia Metro station, a terminus for several bus routes. As the driver was walking on Howard Road SE about 9 p.m., a shot was fired during a dispute among

youths, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said. The bus operator, who was not believed to be the target, was hit in the leg. The wound was not considered life-threatening, Stessel said. He said authorities believed that the shot came from Shannon Place, which intersects Howard Road near the station. No information was available about any possible arrests. Rocks have been thrown at buses in parts of the region for

years, but Metro has said the problem is particularly acute in parts of Southeast Washington. Attention has recently been focused on incidents in the neighborhood around Robinson Place, less than a mile south of the Anacostia station. Buses on t he W6 a nd W8 routes have been frequent targets, according to Metro, and service cutbacks have been proposed. (THE WASHINGTON POST )

Arlington President Barack Obama paid tribute at a Veterans Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to “the heroes over the generations who have served this country of ours with distinction.” He said the wreath he laid earlier at Tomb of the Unknowns was intended to remember every service member who has worn a uniform and served the nation. Over the next few years, he said, more than 1 million service members will make the transition to civilian life. As they come home, Obama urged their fellow citizens to always be there for them. Later, the president and first lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, greeted families in the cemetery’s Section 60, home to graves of service members killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Restaurants in the Montgomery County town of Damascus are getting ready to sell wine and beer. The Baltimore Sun reports the town of just over 15,000 voted this week to allow alcohol sales. Damascus had been one of the few dry towns left in Maryland, and voters decided against allowing alcohol sales in votes in 1933, 1976, 1984, 1992 and 1996. This year the referendum question on alcohol was put on the ballot by the state’s General Assembly. The residents’ vote allows restaurants to apply for a license to serve wine and beer, but only to customers who are seated. The vote leaves in effect a ban on the opening of bars and the sale of hard liquor. (AP)

Come Thanksgiving Day, it’s always a question: Will you be in line well before midnight to buy a door-busting bargain on Black Friday? With stores offering holiday price matches and free shipping options from Wal-Mart, Target and other major retailers, it’s easy to beat the rush and skip Black Friday this holiday season.

Don’t Wait The shopping season is starting earlier, with Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Toys R Us rolling out deals for the entire period, not just one day or even one month. That means deals will change from week to week, and using price guarantees and shipping promotions at the right time will help you save big. Pay attention to fliers, online prices and the timing of purchases.

Use the Price Matches Target and Best Buy are matching prices offered online by rivals including Amazon and Wal-Mart. The goal is to convince shoppers that they can get everything they need at the lowest price at one loca-

Free Shipping Last year, 92.5 percent of online retailers offered free shipping for a portion of the holiday season, according to the National Retail Federation’s Shop.org. It’s expected to be the same this year. There are retailers including Nordstrom, L.L. Bean and Zappos.com that always offer free shipping with no minimum purchase. But check out Freeshipping .org to find out whether your favorite retailer is offering free shipping or to learn about promotions on select items. (AP)

tion. “They are trying to combat showrooming, which is when people come to the store, look at items and then call them up on Amazon,” said Jody Rohlena, senior editor of ShopSmart magazine. She suggests visiting PriceGrabber.com for price comparisons.

Gift Card Cop-Out Because of the holiday pricematching programs, many retailers are expected to lose money on some big-ticket items that are priced lower elsewhere. That means November and December is the best time to look for sales (not January, after you’ve received your gift card). K AT H E R I N E B O Y L E (THE WASHINGTON POST )

Dynamo Upend United

In Brief

Black and Red face uphill battle at home for MLS Cup berth

Given the deteriorating circumstances, D.C. United would have been elated to be tied with the Houston Dynamo at halftime in the first leg of the MLS Eastern Conference finals Sunday. Instead, an ailing club that had defied odds and skeptics the past two months was, incredibly, leading by a goal. B u t Un i t e d ’s one half of survival and joy was followed by 45 minutes of hell in an ocean of orange at sold-out BBVA Compass Stadium. Beset by injuries, road weariness and defensive breakdowns, United conceded three goals after the break and dropped the opener of the totalgoals series, 3-1. Rookie Nick DeLeon’s goal jeopardized Houston’s season-long unbeaten streak at its new downtown cauldron, but Andre Hainault, Will Bruin and Kofi Sarkodie answered after the break as the Dynamo improved to 9-0-1 all-time at home against United. United will head home for the final leg next Sunday at RFK Stadium with severe injury issues. Leading scorer Chris Pontius, defensive midfielder Marcelo Saragosa and center back Brandon McDonald left the game and appear questionable for the finale. United’s personnel problems began in the 12th minute when Pontius departed with an aggravated groin muscle. Saragosa departed in the 40th minute with a ham-

Analyst: Not Your Typical Offense ESPN’s Hasselbeck wonders if Redskins are misusing RGIII Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and his son, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, have been widely praised this season for their handling of rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III. The Shanahans crafted an offensive system for Griffin that is a blend of elements more commonly seen in the college game — such as the spread offense, the pistol formation and the triple option — along with more conventional NFL components, like the West Coast passing game and the zoneblocking scheme for the running game utilized for years by teams coached by Mike Shanahan. Former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck said Friday that what the Redskins are doing with Grif-

fin generally has worked. But Hasselbeck, now an NFL analyst for ESPN, also said he has begun to wonder if the Redskins are overemphasizing the college-style elements of their offense and thus failing to take full advantage of Griffin’s accuracy as a passer. “We’ve gotten to the point

where you have to wonder about the direction of the offense,” Hasselbeck said. “They have all these atypical NFL concepts. They like to repeat concepts. But when you do that, you’re not stretching the field. You’re not making the defense defend the entire field. One of the reasons it works in college is

because the first guy gets open. But when the first guy is not open in the NFL, you have to be able to get to the next guy.” Hasselbeck said he wonders if the college-style elements to the offense are limiting Griffin’s passing by not giving him enough receiving options on many plays and not forcing opposing defenses to defend the entire field. Griffin and the Redskins have been highly productive on offense for most of the season. The Redskins are ranked second in the NFL in rushing offense and seventh in the league in total offense, based on yards gained. They’re 10th in the league in scoring offense. Griffin has become one of the sport’s most popular players and is the league’s 10th-rated passer. But the offense has had a tougher time lately. They’re on a three-game losing streak and are 3-6 at their bye week, in last place in the NFC East. MARK MASKE (THE WASHINGTON POST )

Ravens Obliterate Raiders, 55-20 Flacco has huge day; team sets franchise scoring record in win

No. 15 Texas A&M upset No. 1 Alabama 29-24 Saturday, ending their unbeaten season. The men’s hoops game between No. 10 Florida and Georgetown on the USS Bataan was called off due to court condensation Friday. The Wizards lost to the Bucks and Pacers Friday and Saturday and are still winless so far for the season.

Joe Flacco led a record-setting day for the Baltimore Ravens, who scored touchdowns at a dizzying rate in several different ways. Flacco threw for 341 yards and three scores, and Baltimore set a club mark for points in a 55-20 rout of the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. The Ravens (7-2) scored on six of their first seven possessions against the struggling Raiders (3-6), who have yielded at least 40 points in two straight games for the first time since 1962. The 55 points tied an Oakland record for points allowed, set in 1961 and matched in 1981.

NFL

Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Baltimore led 27-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, Flacco threw touchdown passes of 47 and 20 yards to Torrey Smith, and holder Sam Koch scored on a fake field goal to make it 48-17. In the fourth quarter, Jacoby

Jones took a kickoff 105 yards for a 55-20 lead. Baltimore’s previous record for points in a game was 48, against Detroit in December 2009. It was a rare blowout for the AFC North-leading Ravens, who won their previous five games by a total of 23 points. Baltimore has 15 straight home wins, the longest current streak in the NFL. Carson Palmer went 29 for 45 for 368 yards and two touchdowns for Oakland. Playing without injured running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson, the Raiders gained only 72 yards on the ground. Baltimore didn’t punt until the third quarter, and even that turned out well. Phillip Adams fumbled, the Ravens recovered the ball and Flacco promptly threw a touchdown pass to Smith. When the latest installment in the wildly popular “Call of Duty” video game franchise is released Tuesday, it will transport fans to a completely new place: the future. Setting half of “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” in the year 2025 could be the riskiest gambit yet for the shoot-’em-up series known for its relentless past-and-present realism. “Black Ops II” (for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC and, in December, Wii U) flip-flops between the clandestine Cold War of yesteryear and a cutthroat conflict in the near future where cyber-terrorism, drones and souped-up rifles that can peek through walls serve as everyday instruments of warfare. It’s a bold leap for a franchise that’s spent the past nine years firmly rooted in an unflinching, albeit “Rambo”-esque, reality. “The new setting gave everyone in the studio a creative freedom we didn’t have before,” says Mark Lamia, head of “Black Ops” developer Treyarch. “We want our games to have that plausible, grounded feeling, but make no mistake: We’ll err on the side of entertainment every time. It is a game [and] the game has to be fun.” The flash-forward won’t merely affect the story-driven, single-player campaign. Robotic tanks, electrifying grenades, flying drones and other high-tech doodads are being added to the arsenals of “Black Ops” soldiers. The change will undoubtedly alter the landscape of the multiplayer mode, the franchise’s addictive feature that keeps gamers coming back. Despite the fact the “Call of Duty” series began as a World War II shooter before

U.S. sales of new video games and hardware fell 25 percent in October, according to the NPD Group. The drop marks the 11th straight month of declining sales, which could be attributed to gamers awaiting the big holiday releases, such as“Call of Duty: Black Ops II.” Overall, sales fell to $755.5 million from $1 billion a year earlier. gaining unprecedented success when it morphed into a modern-day interactive action flick, the developers at Treyarch aren’t fearful of alienating the legions of die-hard fans who helped make “Call of Duty” the most unstoppable force in the gaming world. (Last year’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” shattered entertainment industry records by selling 6.5 million copies and earning more than $400 million within 24 hours.) The game-makers enlisted military ana-

lyst and “Wired for War” author Peter W. Singer to serve as an overseer who could guide the developers away from simply creating science fiction. The first rule? No laser guns, at least not in the hands of soldiers. Another real-world flourish included casting China as a geopolitical superpower opposite the United States. To maintain the cinematic sensation of earlier games, “Dark Knight Rises” screenwriter David S. Goyer helped guide the story. Goyer recommended that developers create a “Call of Duty” game with a branching narrative, one that shifts and changes depending on players’ actions — including having multiple endings — a franchise first. “Obviously, the ‘Call of Duty’ franchise is hugely successful, but franchises can only remain successful if you keep innovating,” Goyer says. “No franchise can last forever.” DERRIK J. will star in the franchise’s fourth film. Bay called Wahlberg the “perfect guy to reinvigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy” in a post on his blog. “Transformers 4” is scheduled to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 27, 2014. Bay has hinted that the next film will take the series in a new direction, but he hasn’t elaborated. (AP)

Documentary

740 Park Avenue is home to the largest concentration of billionaires in the country.

2 Broke Girls A handsome fellow who owns a candy store (“Party Down’s” Ryan Hansen ) is sweet on Caroline (Beth Behrs), but after an embarrassing experience at his store, she’s apprehensive about dating him.

Castle The story unfolds in documentary style after a rock guitarist is murdered, and the filmmakers following the band turn their cameras on Castle and Beckett (Stana Katic, right) as they investigate. C. Thomas Howell plays the leader of a cult that the victim was trying to leave.

I Love the 1880s This new series puts a historic twist on VH1’s “I Love the ’80s” concept, taking viewers back to the 19th century for a humorous spin on the era, courtesy of various comedians. (TRIBUNE MEDIA)

‘ PA R K AV E N U E : M O N E Y, P O W E R & T HE A ME R I C A N D R E A M ’

Haves and Have Nots “Park Avenue,” part of PBS’ “Independent Lens” series, 10:00 examines the country’s wealth gap by contrasting life at 740 Park Avenue, a building in New York that is home to the highest concentration of billionaires in America, with life on another Park Avenue — five miles away in the South Bronx — that runs through one of the poorest congressional districts in the United States. KE VIN MCDONOUGH (UNIVERSAL UCLICK) PBS

Oliver Stone raised lots of eyebrows with his take on John F. Kennedy’s assassination in the 1991 docudrama “JFK,” but “Untold History of the United States” (8 p.m., Sho) a new 10-part series from the filmmaker is all docu- without the manufactured drama. Stone, below, and collaborator Peter Kuznick aim to present a fuller view of events from World War II to the fall of Communism, telling the stories that went unreported at the time. (TM)

“Hey @ PapaJohns just charge me twenty cents more and give your employees health care! How great would that be!?” — @WYSKIDA reacts to news that

the CEO of the pizza company said he’d be cutting his employees’ hours and raising prices on his product due to Obamacare.

“My president is black, my senator is a lesbian and my congressman is gay. This is not your grandparents’ America, and I’m ok with that.” — @TORIDYKES, a Wisconsin res-

ident, is feeling good about the direction of the country following the election of Democrat Mark Pocan to the U.S. House of Representatives and Democrat Tammy Baldwin to the U.S. Senate.

“The best way to describe the performance? Lots of green screen and graphics straight out of Encarta 95. The result? A visually cringe worthy experience, especially when her band got lost amidst random ass imagery of parallelograms, Roman columns, the ocean, and of course, diamonds.” — CONSEQUENCEOFSOUND.NET

thought Rihanna’s performance of “Diamonds” on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” was a bit too visually psychedelic.

“How amazing is it to see Nas in a commercial ad campaign?” — NECOLEBITCHIE.COM is a fan

of the new commercial featuring the Queensbridge, N.Y., rapper and his father, jazz musician Olu Dara, for the Gap.

“Amazing day at [White Hart Lane] tonight. Thank you guys for everythings spurs fans tonight were awesome. Thank you.” — @FMUAMBA, a midfielder for Bolton

in the Barclay’s Premier League, thanked the crowd for a standing ovation at halftime of Tottenham’s 3-1 win at home to Maribor Thursday, after returning to the exact spot on the field where he collapsed because of cardiac arrest during an FA Cup match in March.

EASY

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Timing isn’t everything today, but it is perhaps the single most important aspect of a current assignment. Keep your eye on the clock. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) It will be up to you to delve into the most sensitive issues today, but you can do so with respect for the most involved. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) Your attraction to someone outside of your normal circle of friends and loved ones is based on something you do not entirely understand. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) You may be surprised to learn how far you will go today to secure your own safety. You are capable of more than you think! PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) A reunion of sorts is not to be avoided; you have much to share, and much to do once you realize that you’re in this together.

Friday’s Solution

Friday’s Solution

ARIES (March 21-April 19) You may overhear something that has you wondering if things will ever be the same. You may simply be overreacting. TAURUS (April 20-May 20) Messages you receive today may not give you the comfort you seek. One or two pieces of information have you considering an unusual option. GEMINI (May 21-June 20) Strain in a relationship can be lessened today but you’ll have to be the first to suggest a solution to a growing problem.

FOUR RACK TOTAL Make a 2-7 letter word from the letters in each row. Add points of each word using scoring directions at right. Seven-letter words get a 50-point bonus. Blank tiles used as any letter have no point value. Scrabble is a trademark of Hasbro in the U.S. and Canada.

Comics

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) You are after something that may be unavailable to you — not just now, but always. It’s time to reorder your priorities, perhaps. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Your unique perspective has you making a few decisions that others could never make — but the only person you have to answer to is yourself.
