S\ por]i esen]a vie]ii [i toate misterele ei presupune grele responsabilit\]i [i constrângeri sociale. Prin lucr\rile mele exprim realitatea pierderii unei identit\]i feminine precum [i pierderea culturii prin globalizare [i o c\utare în acela[i timp.

Being yourself, a key of salvation (excerpt) will introduce my perspective, saying that what is coming next is not a story, but a kind of autobiographical account, which is an attempt to transform my particular experience into a universal research for the valorisation of what being a woman means deeply. It might sound like an over generalized point of view, but what I’m trying to express here, is my fundamental quest for identity in our world of confusion between gender and rights, for all those human beings. I’m probably looking much more extreme than I am. But, actually, I think that it’s necessary to make the dream of a real international equality coming true… Like Isabelle Alonso said in the March 2001 issue, of the feminist magazine Chienne de garde: «Tant qu'une seule femme sur la planète subira les effets du sexisme, la lutte des femmes sera légitime, et le féminisme nécessaire.» In the beginning, a cataclysm, an explosion, a woman. To be born a woman means to keep a secret in your heart, a secret that can only be shared with other women. To bear the essence of life and all its mysteries carries heavy responsibilities and social constraints. Hence, there was a time when women fought to gain their freedom, to have the right to choose, a time when they took ownership of their destinies and choose to no longer be victims of man’s yoke. I once carried this breath, a vivifying breath that opens our senses to life’s immensity. I was carrying the art inside of me, an achievement that had the power to create or destroy, a unique power that frightened the man behind the child. For love, I refused this gift that life had given me, without really understanding the implication of my action. But life was stronger; it flowed in my bosom for a few weeks and made me realize how, as women, we cannot deny our essence. Since that day, I proclaim woman’s beauty and uniqueness and I celebrate womanhood daily.Through my artistic creation, I express the reality of a loss of a feminine identity as well as the loss of culture through globalization and a quest at the same time.
