Eli Lilly, Cork Jones Engineering has been working with Eli Lilly for more than 30 years in their facility in Kinsale where they manufacture active ingredients for a number of major medicines including Alimta, Evista, Strattera and Zyprexa. We have carried out numerous mechanical, process piping, & HVAC contracts as well as electrical and instrumentation contracts including the IE30 upgrade for the biopharmaceutical project and their recent IE43 Expansion We continue to work with Lilly on an ongoing basis under a term contract. Servier, Wicklow The Servier plant in Arklow produces high quality finished pharmaceutical products and comprises of both a chemical synthesis plant and a pharmaceutical production plant. The plant specialises in the manufacture of three of the most renowned Servier products for the treatment of diabetes and hypertension. Jones Engineering Group was involved on the Servier UPA2 project providing the mechanical, electrical and fire protection services throughout the entire new facility. Schwarz Pharma, Clare We completed the mechanical and HVAC services in the fesoterodine project for Schwarz Pharma. The scope of works comprised fabrication and installation of all mechanical piping, HVAC and process services. This included 23km of pipework, biobore high purity pipework (fully orbitally welded), carbon steel and stainless steel, and the installation of 200 items of equipment. Bristol Myers Squibb, Dublin Bristol Myers Squibb is a multifunctional, highly automated bulk pharmaceutical facility in Cruiserath. We were responsible for the complete process and mechanical piping installation in the production building, including equipment installation and hook-up. Value e 28m | Programme 24 months

Millipore, Cork Millipore produce microporis membranes and disposable devices at their facility in Carrightwohill in Cork. Jones Engineering Group have carried out several projects for Millipore which include mechanical, process and HVAC services, along with electrical, sprinkler and fire protection in the original building. We are currently working with the client on their latest expansion project, and continually carry out instrument calibration work. Value e 25m | Programme Ongoing

Pfizer, Cork Jones Engineering Group has completed significant mechanical, electrical and sprinkler installation work throughout various Pfizer facilities. These include a bulk pharmaceutical API plant in Ringaskiddy, an API plant in Little Island, and a drug product Plant in Loughbeg. We continue to work with Pfizer across all their Irish plants’ on an ongoing basis. Value e 30m | Programme Ongoing

A Selection of our Projects


Pfizer, Grangecastle Pfizer (Formely Wyeth) Grangecastle is one of the world’s largest integrated biopharmaceutical campuses. The main construction project was carried out over 33 months. The facility required 1.25 million person hours of engineering; nine million person hours of construction; 48,800 metres of process piping; 2,400 separate items of equipment; 50 different sub-contract packages; 7,587 different drawings; and 1,200 specific validation protocols. Construction personnel peaked at 2,500. Jones Engineering Group carried out the mechanical services installation for the Central Utilities Building (CUB) and has continued to remain on site for Pfizer carrying out numerous projects including the Pilot Plant. We also have a term contract with Pfizer Grangecastle, in which we have overall responsibility for the mechanical, electrical and civil works in all process & utility areas. Value e 80m

Vistakon, Limerick The company is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson who are the world’s largest contact lens manufacturer. The facility in Limerick manufactures the acuvue range of lenses. We have installed the complete mechanical and sprinkler systems throughout this contact lens manufacturing facility from phases 1 to 6. We have been working onsite for over 25 years and continue to work with Vistakon on the development of their plant. Value e 60m

Swords Laboratories, Dublin Swords Laboratories manufactures bulk pharmaceutical which are shipped to BMS finishing plants around the world including their Cruiserath facility. Jones Engineering Group has completed various mechanical, electrical and sprinkler projects in this facility. We have also manufactured skid modules in our Cork workshop and shipped them for installation on site in Dublin. We continue to work with Swords Labs on an ongoing basis for all miscellaneous electrical and sprinkler works. Value e 15m

Schering Plough We have been working with Merck, formerly Schering Plough for over 35 years and have completed major process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, sprinkler and fire protection works in all of their facilities. These include an API plant in Ballydine; fermentation, purification and sterile filling of biotec products facility in Brinny; stand alone human vaccine facility in Carlow; API facility in Rathdum; and a health pharmaceutical products manufacturing facility in Swords. NIBRT (UCD) The project consisted of detailed design and the construction of a research facility for NIBRT. The 6,000m2 building features a pilot plant, laboratories, training and office facility. The facility includes benchscale bioreactors; bench-scale filtration and chromatography systems; upstream and downstream pilot plant bio-processing suites operated under ‘GMP-simulated’ conditions; bio-analytical suite; research laboratories including ‘world-leading’ analytical technologies; and specialised plant and utilities. Elan / Alkermes Elan is a solid oral dosage manufacturing facility located in Athlone. We carried out the fabrication, supply, delivery, erection, on-site protection, commissioning and hand-over of electrical power services and instrumentation in the main production facility. Centocor, Cork Centocor is a subsidiary of the Johnson & Johnson Group. Jones Engineering has completed a number of projects including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and fire protection services in this biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility, which consists of production building, central utility building, laboratories, administration block and warehousing. We continue to work with Centocor on ongoing process mechanical projects. Value e 12m | Programme 18 months

Damastown Industrial Est., Dublin We have been working in Damastown Industrial Estate since 1986 when we were involved in the original construction of a number of pharmaceutical facilties including Mallinckrodt, Yamanouchi, Helsinn and Rottapharm. We have completed major mechanical, electrical and sprinkler installation in these plants. We continue to work with Covidien, Clarochem, Helsinn Birex, Astellas and Rottapharm, and we carry out shut down and maintenance work with these clients on an ongoing basis.
