Retirement Plans Traditional Spousal IRA • Eligible to deposit to a maximum of $4,000.00 • Contributions are “pre-tax” dollars. • Contribution may be tax deductible Roth IRA • A non-working spouse or a spouse with minimum income may have an IRA and can deposit to a maximum of $4,000.00 per year to an IRA
Health Savings Account – HSA • Allows an individual (grantor) to make an annual contribution to a maximum of $2,000.00 for a child’s education. • Deposits are tax deductible to the grantor. Qualified expenses include tuition and fees, cost of books, supplies and equipment, cost of room and board and cost of uniforms. • Funds can be released to the ‘child’ at age 18.
Roth Spousal IRA • An individual can deposit to a maximum of $4,000.00 Contributions are “after-tax” dollars. • There is no tax deduction, earnings are tax deferred. • There is no mandatory distribution age or minimum distribution amount
An HSA is an account established to pay medical expenses in conjunction with a health plan. • Individuals and employers are eligible to open HSAs. • Deposits are tax deductible. • Distributions must be made for qualified medical reasons; funds not used for Medical reasons remain in the account.
Coverdell Education Savings Account • A non-working spouse or a spouse with minimum income can deposit to a maximum of $4,000.00 per year to a Roth IRA • Contributions are “after-tax” dollars. • While there is no tax deduction, earnings are tax deferred. • There is no mandatory distribution age or minimum distribution amount • A self-employed individual, a partnership, a sole proprietor or practitioner may also be eligible to open a SEP.Eligibility requirements and contribution amounts are determined by the employer.
