I have a yorkie with no undercoat and I feel like he needs a little extra covering when we go on walks. One coat is very thick and has a very long collar that goes up to his ears to cover his neck (but not a hood). The other is thinner and more of a wind breaker/rain jacket. We use it when it’s super windy. I never wanted to put clothes on my dog, and when we lived in Arkansas, I didnt have to. But now that we live in cold weather, it’s hard to take my dog on the much needed walks when it’s really cold. I know he’s more comfortable. He used to shake and try to get me to carry him. But with the jackets, he’s fine. I know he’s not too cold. And once he got used to them and figured out that they were useful, he really loved to wear them, especially the warm fuzzy one!!
