Never Expose Your Boat to the Elements Again T

By Tom Irmen

hat’s one New Year’s Resolution that is easier to keep than you might have imagined. In fact, it’s a 2020 resolution that we only just achieved.. Like other area boaters, we frequently see boats in docks, both private and some community docks, that are protected by Touchless Boat Cover System. The concept is a simple one...create a garage for your boat that protects your watercraft like your home’s garage protects your vehicles. But it wasn’t until multiple boat owners on our community dock in Rarity Bay installed the Touchless Boat Cover that we made the decision to make the investment by redirecting a portion of the money we saved from a canceled 2020 Mediterranean cruise. Previously when we arrived at our dock for a day on the lake, we had to first clear away the cobwebs from the sides of our boat. Then we removed the straps that secured our boat cover and then removed the cover. We shook the cover off to shake off the spiders that remained before folding the cover and placing it in our dock box. We would wash the bird and spider droppings off the cover when we returned. Before we had started to wipe the cobwebs and spider droppings from the now exposed topside areas of our boat, the boat owners in the slip across from ours arrived.

They pressed their key fob, their Touchless Cover was fully raised in 30 seconds or less. They lowered their boat lift, started their outboard engine and were off in 5 minutes or less. On a recent outing on the lake, we pressed our key fob. While our Touchless Cover was rising, we lowered our boat lift. We turned on the battery, started the blower and after the required interval, started our engine. We were off for an enjoyable day on the lake. And yes, we’re using our boat far more than before. And the spiders? I can’t explain it. They’ve mostly disappeared. And our newly detailed boat looks just like it did on the showroom floor in 2007. Thinking about protecting that investment you’ve made in your boat in the New Year? Call Patrick Boring today and cross one New Year’s Resolution off your list. Patrick and his team can safely install your new Touchless Cover all year round. omeowners everywhere are creating popular outdoor “rooms”. They include porches and lanais with kitchens complete with large, permanently installed grills, refrigerators, work areas, luxurious fireplaces, beautiful lighting, and even artwork specially made to be weather-proof. But unfortunately, flying and biting insects can prevent you from fully enjoying your new outdoor living spaces. The solution is simple - retractable screens. When combining indoor and outdoor spaces, these innovative retractable screen solutions enhance and promote your outdoor living experience by providing both shade and protection from annoying, biting insects, allowing your family and friends to enjoy more time out of doors. Large, motorized screens blend function with comfort. These screens can be recessed into the beams or walls of your home, thereby staying truly hidden when fully retracted. And the best part about using retractable screens is that these screening solutions don’t diminish your views or your home’s exterior esthetics, as your screens are in place only when needed. For the ultimate in elegance, many of the available retractable screen solutions can be blended into virtually any architectural style. These retractable screens are available in a variety of custom colors and wood grain finishes that help blend your screens with your home’s interior or exterior color schemes. The screens can also be programmed to come down and retract with sun and wind sensors and can be connected to your home’s general building automation system to have the screens come down at a specific time of day when extra shade or insect protection is needed. Why not make a New Year’s resolution this year that your entire family can enjoy? Create a season of memorable out-of-door living experiences with family and friends in 2021 with retractable screens from Screens of East Tennessee.
