The Wedding of Claire and Marcus
laire Victoria Louise Donaldson married Marcus Trevellion Whitelaw at St Audries Park, West Quantoxhead, Taunton at 1.30pm on Valentine’s Day, February 14 2014. The Portishead couple say they had a splendid day, despite a few setbacks and it was made even more special by the efforts made by family and friends to be there on their special day. For those of you who don’t know, Quantoxhead is in Somerset and while it may have escaped some of the severe flooding, it didn’t manage to escape the high winds and storms. Claire said: “Despite the storms, our loyal friends braved the elements travelling from Portishead to St Audries to share our special day with us. Some guests were delayed after trees came down on their route and they had to take the long way around, but worse was to come. It was a very stormy day and we all got rather blown away, then there was a power cut after the evening reception leaving all the guests who were staying overnight without water, heating or lighting. With the power still down the next morning the wedding breakfast had to be cooked on a barbecue. Despite the hiccups we had a great time which was full of laughs and it is a day we will remember for so many reasons!
