ปรางค์วัดโพธิ์ศรีธาตุ เดิมเป็นปราสาทขอมสร้างด้วย ศิลาแลงและศิลาทราย ต่อมาทางวัดได้รื้อส่วนเรือนธาตุ ของปราสาทออกจนเหลือเพียงฐานศิลาแลง และได้น�ำ วัสดุ ทีไ่ ด้จากการรือ้ มาสร้างเจดียร์ ปู ทรงสีเ่ หลีย่ มจัตรุ สั ทับซ้อน อยู่บนฐานปราสาท
Prang of Wat Pho Si Tat. This place used to be Khmer prasat built with laterite and sandstone. Later the Ruen That part was removed and only the laterite foundation remained. Then a squared-shape Prang was built on top of the foundation from those stone pieces removed.
หลักฐานทางโบราณคดีที่พบ ภายในบริเวณวัด พบแท่นประติมากรรมศิลาทราย Archeological Evidences และฐานศิลาแลง แต่จากหลักฐานปรากฏให้เห็นว่าเคย In the area, there are sandstone sculpture เป็นปราสาทขอมมาก่อน แสดงให้เห็นถึงวัฒนธรรมขอม and laterite base reflecting the evidence of Khmer ในดินแดนแถบนี้ influence in this area.
ที่ตั้ง Location วัดโพธิ์ศรีธาตุ หมู่ที่ 1 ตำ�บลธาตุ อำ�เภอรัตนบุรี Wat Pho Si Tat is Mu 1, Tat Sub-district, Ratana จังหวัดสุรินทร์ Buri District Surin Province การเดินทาง มาจากตัวเมืองสุรินทร์ ไปตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 226 ถนนสายสุรนิ ทร์-ศีขรภูมิ เมือ่ มาถึงตัวอำ�เภอศีขรภูมิ ให้เลี้ยวซ้ายไปตามทาง สร.2079 ทางไปอำ�เภอรัตนบุรี ให้เลี้ยวขวาไปตามทาง สร.2076 อีก 9 กิโลเมตร จะถึง บ้านธาตุ ทางขวามือจะเป็นที่ตั้งของวัดโพธิ์ศรีธาตุ ซึ่งได้ สร้างเจดีย์หลังใหม่ตั้งอยู่บนฐานปราสาท
To Go There From Surin City. Take route 226 Surin-Sikhora phum to Si Khoraphum District then turn left onto route SR 2079 the way to Ratana Buri. Turn right onto SR 2076 for 9 kilometers to Ban tat. Wat Pho Si Tat is on the right. The new Prang was built on top of the foundation of the prasat.
