Everest base camp trek - Trekking in Nepal

Everest Base Camp trekking is an ultimate adventure destination that goes behind the horizon of world highest mountain in the earth. An early flight from the Nepalese domestic Airport takes you to Lukla.

The flight itself is an exciting journey. Enjoying the marvelous views of several snow capped giants of the Himalayas, we land in one of the highest Airports, known as Lukla Airport at an elevation of (2860m).

After an early breakfast in Lukla, we commence our trek to Everest Base camp. We follow the narrow trail very well-known to the Yaksthe only means of transportation in the region apart from airtransports. The soothing sound of perennial rivers and streams combines with the Yak-bells providing solace to the soul.

Beautifully encrypted mani walls and the suspension bridges enrolled in prayers flags affirms the Buddhist spirituality prevailing in the region.

Namche Bazar is the famous trading hub in the region with various sophisticated lodging and fooding facilities. Along with Namche Bazar, in the overall journey you can order any of the western food items of your choice or try some exquisite Sherpa dishes.

In the early morning, we hike to Syangboche at the height of (3780m) in order to acclimatize ourselves in the higher altitude. From this point we can enjoy the spectacular view of Mount Everest, Nuptse and myriads of other peaks. Among these, stands out the incredible view of Amadablam, this is sure to be imprinted in your memory forever.

With the peaceful mountains in the background, proudly stands the Tengboche monastery which is the biggest and oldest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region.

We have a second acclimatization day at Dingboche where we ascend to Nagarjun Hill, which offers panoramic view of gigantic mountains including mount Everest.

From Gorakshep, we walk for 1.5 to 2 hours through a steep trail to reach Kalapatthar at an elevation of 5545m. The highest point of our Journey Kalapatthar is a perfect vantage point for a close up view of Mount Everest accompanied by Nuptse, Lhotse, Chagse, pumori and many other towering mountains. It is good gesture to offer prayer flag in Klapatthar as thanks giving to Buddhist deities for a safe and successful journey.

Finally we trek to Everest Base camp, the foot of the highest place on Earth. From the base camp we have a close encounter with mountains of Everest massif and Khumbu glacier. You might have a chance to wish good luck to the Everest climbers.

We return from base camp through the same trail leaving the mountains behind us, but the memories of the journey to Everest resting in our heart for eternity.

ITINERARY Day 01: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m),3/4 hrs walking, O/n t at Guest House.

Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m), 5/6 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 03: Acclimatization Day in Namche, O/n at Guest House.

Day 04: Trek to Tengboche (3860m), 5/6 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 05: Trek to Dingboche (4410m), 5/6 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 06: Second acclimatization day, O/n at Guest House.

Day 07: Trek to Lobuche (4910m), 5/6 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 08: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5160m), then return to Gorepahep. 5/6 hrs walking. O/n at Guest House.

Day 09: Hiking to Kalapattar (5545m) and trek down to Pheriche (4210m), 6/7 hrs walking, O/nat Guest House.

Day 10: Trek to Namche, 6/7 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 10: Trek to Lukla, 6/7 hrs walking, O/n at Guest House.

Day 12: Fly back to Kathmandu (1337m), O/n at Hotel.
