UP and down the Costa Blanca, the Costa Calida and several points inland, many hundreds of people turned out on a beautiful morning to attend Remembrance Services. Many of the local municipalities that have a large number of British citizens saw larger turn-outs than usual at what for many has become an annual event. As well as the fine, sunny weather the extra significance of the 100th anniversar y since the Armistice was signed made the day even more poignant. The emotional services accompanied by the laying of wreathes by local politicians of all nationalities, members of various branches of the Royal British Legion, and individuals remembering their own family members, friends and colleagues that ser ved and lost their lives in defence of their country, were greeted with the silence and respect that the occasion deserved.
