Literary quotes for fun night THE Benahavis Decorative and Fine Arts Society (BDFAS) tried out an experiment, ‘an evening of literary fun’ and that is exactly what the ‘Give us a quote’ event turned out to be. It took the group, which is only in its second year, along a new path. Central to the evening’s activities was local schoolmaster Guido Omissi who peppered his talk on poetry with quotations from Shakespeare to Rupert Brooke, and who responded to questions from the audience. Next came a quiz on art
in general organised by two BDFAS members, Liz Thompson and Margaret Clark. Audience participation was vital with local author Mary Parker Caine reading a passage from her book ‘A Novel Conspiracy’. Judging by the silence during the reading and the resounding applause that followed, she captured her audience’s attention with her forthright prose. Visitors are welcome and further information is available from www.benahavisdfas.com info@benahavisdfas.com
