Remove the carpet fasteners by gently pulling the carpet away from the rear retainers.

Pull back the carpet to access the 3 metal retainers. Use a 10mm socket to loosen the bolts and then remove the 3 metal retainers.

Lower the roof to access the plastic trim on the side of the car. Remove the plastic trim and bolts at the base of the hood frame shown above. If fitted with a style bar or strut brace remove this using a 17mm socket.

Remove the plastic caps at the end of the rain rail.

Remove the door edge trim (Door seal)

Remove the plastic trim surround the seat belt tensioners.

Remove the 3 bolts, either side of the car, holding the hinge of the hood frame using a 12mm socket.

Fold the hood forward then slide the hood and rain rail off the retaining bolts.

Lower the hood and then, with 2 people lifting simultaneously, remove the hood from the vehicle by lifting from the hinges.

Now that the hood is removed it is wise to take opportunity to check the drain point for blockages by pushing a piece of wire into the drain point. If it is blocked you will feel some resistance, simply use the wire to push out the blockage.

Drill out the rivets holding the rain rail to the hood using a 5mm drill bit.

Lay the hood flat then remove the front header rail retainer using a Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the 2 Phillips screws from the header edge and pull away the front sealing rubbers.

Remove the metal seal retainer using a Phillips screwdriver.

Remove the rear sealing rubbers and metal seal retainers on the rear quarters. The top of the rubber is held in by 2 plastic retainer plugs. Use needle nose pliers to release the plastic plugs without breaking.

Remove the Phillips screw holding the B Pillar retainer in place.

Remove the B Pillar retainer.

Drill out the 2 number rivets either side from the B Pillar using a 3.5mm drill bit.

2 Number rivets either side as shown above and left.

Pull the sides of the hood away from the frame.

Pull away the front and side edges of the hood from the frame. Take care as this area will have been glued.

Drill out 4 number rivets holding the side cables.

Cut the bows to release the hood from the frame.

Pull the side cables out of the hood.

Slide the bow flaps out of the frame.

To attach the rain rail to the new hood align the rivet holes on the top with the corresponding holes in the rain rail, using the rivot posts, and join using a hammer and anvil.

Lay your new hood flat in a suitable working area.

Lay your hood frame on top of the new hood.

Pull through the side cables.

Pull the corners of the hood over the frame, lining up the pre punched holes in the hood with the 3 holes in the frame.

Replace the B Pillar retainer re-using the Phillips screw

Rivet the hood to the frame, 2 rivets either side

Re-attach the rubber side seal retainers and side rubbers, attaching the rubber with the 2 plastic push studs at the base then feed the rubber into the metal retainer.

Rivet the front of the tension cable into position on the header rail.

Line the front bow flap up on the frame and position the punched holes on the hood with the screw holes in the frame. Then glue the front corner of the hood and fold around the frame ready to secure.

Attach the side rubber seal metal retainer and reposition the rubber seal into it.

Re-attach the front header rail bar retainer starting with the centre screw and working outwards from there to get good alignment.

Now your hood is attached to the frame you can re-position it on the car. The 2 bolts either side should be lined up with the notches on the hood hinges, shown left and below

Then once the hood is in position latch down the front clamps and re-attach the 3 bolts on either side of the car using a 12mm socket

Slide the rain rail in behind the carpet lining up the bolt holes and bolts, re-attach the 3 metal retainers and screw the bolts into place, hand tight only.

Lower the hood and re-attach the plastic trim surrounds to the seat belt tensioners and to the top of the frame hinges remembering to re-attach the end cap on the rain rail.

Re-attach the style bar or strut brace if required. Partially open the hood to create some slack and pull rubber lip over the hood material all round the back of the car to create a weather seal.

Close the hood, again closing the 2 front clamps, and tighten up the bolts on the metal retainers at the rear of the hood using a 10mm socket.

Finally re-attach the carpet fasteners to the rear retainers.

Latch down at the front and the installation of your new hood is complete.
