Physical Therapy Screens at ESTC Welcome Ryan Beck! We hope to enhance your member experience by adding a service that is unique and convenient for members to access. As part of membership dues, Ryan will be offering physical therapy screens for injury prevention, injury advice management, instructing seminars pertaining to various aspects of injury, and performing functional movement screens. Ryan’s hours will be posted at the club and on the new ESTC website in early November. Ryan’s bio is available at the front desk.
Maintenance Closure 2012 A huge thank you to the entire ESTC Staff who worked hard during the closure in September. All areas of the club were deep cleaned. Locker rooms were scrubbed, vents, light fixtures and windows were cleaned throughout the club. Machines and carpets were cleaned. Courts were thoroughly cleaned of dirt and courts 6-8 were power washed. If you have any questions about what was accomplished, see Linnet for details.
SURVEY 2012 We are listening! Thank you for sharing your views and visions of ESTC in the membership survey. If you have not submitted your input, we will accept surveys through November 4th. All participating members will be entered to win a $100 dues credit, a massage, a tennis lesson, and a personal training session. Help us make your club the best it can be! You can find the survey on-line on our website (www.estc.org) or ask for a copy at the front desk. The ESTC Board of Directors will share the data in future newsletters and at the annual meeting in March.

Adult Tennis News USTA Leagues 2013 As you all know, the USTA has done some shifting in terms of league play. The USTA has changed the calendar year and expanded league play. Here is how it looks. Adult 40+ MXD- January 4- March 20 (Schedule directly with David Chun) Adult 18+ and 55+ - February- April (Captains Meeting January 6th at 6:30pm) Adult 18+ MXD- April- June (Captains meeting in March, date TBD) One Doubles- May- July (Schedule according to ESTC court reservation guidelines) Adult 40+, 65+ and 55+ MXD – Sept-November (Captains meeting in August, date TBD) These 8 USTA leagues now cover all 12 months of the calendar year which will surely make captaining and match scheduling for multiple teams quite a challenge. We will do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs as we head into the winter/spring seasons. Registration forms for all leagues will be in the brochure holder under the big screen in the lobby as soon as we have them. Friday Night Tri-League Huge Success! ESTC’s first tri-level mixed doubles league is off and running and people can’t stop talking about how much fun they are having. So if you haven’t seen what all the FUN is about, come out on Friday nights and cheer on your friends and make some new ones while you’re at it. See you there!
Holiday Social - Senior Style
Join Mitch and Wendy for a special Senior Ladies’ Day and Lunch on Tuesday December 4th. Pot-luck lunch at 11:00am. All ages and guests are welcome to join the fun. Seniors enjoy no double faults all day. That’s right - over 50 and you get “ first in” privileges all morning. Proof of age required!
Do not be a turkey and miss the Turkey Shoot on Friday, November 16th of November at 6:30 pm. We will provide the turkey & you bring a side dish to share. We will play and eat till 8:30 pm. Play is open to players at all levels and a special turkey scoring system will be in place. The player with the fewest and most turkey points win turkeys. The scoring system is designed for fun, and this is a no stress evening. Guests are welcome!
So cook up a storm and we will brew some warm apple cider. We hope to see you for a great day of fun and friendship the ESTC way. Cost: No charge, but please bring a dish to share. Invite a friend – guests welcome at no charge.

New Cardio Equipment The majority of our cardio equipment is leased to provide our members with the most up-to-date cardio equipment possible. In January, we will be replacing a a few pieces of equipment as the lease expires. If you notice equipment that is not in working order, or would like to make a comment, please write it on the clipboard located above the trash receptacle in the cardio area, leave Julie a note at the front desk, or mention it to the front desk staff.
PiYo Strength is a Mind/Body class done barefoot on a mat. It combinesmovements from Yoga, Pilates, Athletic Stretch, and controlled Athletic Strengthening. It’s a bit faster paced and has a more athletic feel than a pure yoga class. Developed in California by nationally known fitness expert, Chalene Johnson, it’s a fusion of movement that delivers on balance, flexibility and strength.
JUNIOR NEWS ESTC hosted our first 10 and Under Junior Tournament on October 13th. This new format using lower compression balls and 60 foot courts allows kids in the younger age groups to play and compete in a very positive environment. The quality of the points and matches was very impressive. Watch out on the courts for our up-and-coming young players practicing for the next tournament.
