Welcome to european university cyprus (euc) We are an independent, autonomous university offering nationally and internationally recognized degrees in 25 undergraduate and 4 graduate programs of study and a doctorate program (PhD) in Education Sciences. Licensed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus, EUC has approximately 120 faculty teaching and conducting research in our four schools:    

ExcEllEnT FAciliTiES European University Cyprus has one of the largest campuses in Cyprus with cutting-edge facilities including a computer center, library, conference halls, engineering labs, cafeteria/restaurant, gymnastic center, amphitheater classrooms, open amphitheater, cultural center, indoor athletic center, student private apartments and many other facilities. With the expansion of our facilities in 2006, we now boast a campus that can accommodate 7,000 students.

Therefore, it has formed several academic alliances and has signed academic agreements with institutions in the US, UK and Europe in general. European University Cyprus students are able to participate in the Erasmus program, which refers to the mobility of students of the European Union member countries. In addition, as an EUC student you will have the opportunity to enjoy student exchange programs among the partner institutions of Laureate International Universities covering 43 recognized universities all over the world. Furthermore, EUC students can transfer abroad at any time during their undergraduate studies to complete their Bachelor degree maintaining the credits that they have earned here. Our students also have the option of completing their Bachelor degree at European University Cyprus and begin graduate studies (Master degree). HigH QuAliTy EducATiOn AT cOMPETiTiVE PricES European University Cyprus offers scholarships that cover up to 35% of tuition to European Union students (not applicable to Cypriot nationals) who will register for an undergraduate program of study (Bachelor Degree) for the academic year 2011-2012. Scholarship recipients will be able to continue receiving the scholarship for consecutive years, until the completion of their program of study.

AFFOrdABlE cOST OF liVing Cyprus has a very high standard of living, but it is still relatively inexpensive to live and study in Cyprus. The cost of living in Cyprus compares very favorably to other European countries. Many significant student expenses such as accommodation cost are much lower in Cyprus than in other European countries.

aDmission proceDure anD criteria

European Union students will need to submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions, P.O.Box 22006, 1516 Nicosia, Cyprus at least one month prior to the beginning of the semester in order to be admitted to the university: 1. A completed application form together with a non-refundable fee of €52 2. Official or certified Academic records (in English)  Undergraduate students must submit a copy of their High School Leaving Diploma and grade marksheets in English attested by the awarding institution or the Ministry of Education or relevant Examining Board.  Graduate students (Master program) must also submit a copy of their Bachelor’s Degree and grade marksheets in English attested by the awarding institution or the Ministry of Education. In addition, applicants must submit two letters of recommendation and proof of work experience. In order to be considered for admission, the average grade on the High School Leaving Certificate or Bachelor Degree must be ‘C’ and above or its equivalent. 3. copy of a valid passport 4. One passport size photograph 5. After an applicant receives an acceptance letter from the university, then he/she must submit the down payment against tuition fees for the first semester of €1100. Final adjustment to fees will be done after a student registers at European University Cyprus.

EVidEncE OF KnOwlEdgE OF EngliSH English is the language of instruction at European University Cyprus. Applicants whose native language in not English will take the university’s English Placement Test (EPT) upon arrival at the university. Applicants who have passed either the TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 (213 computer-based, 79 Internet-based), English IGCSE ‘O’ Level with Grade ‘C’ and above or IELTS with a score of 6.5 and above are exempt from the EPT. English is not a requirement for admission. Candidates whose English proficiency is not up to the university’s standard, will take special English Language classes. Other external exams are accepted by the English Department as equivalent. Please consult with the Office of Admissions for more details.

erasmus program

The Erasmus program offers you the opportunity to spend a period of study at a European university, even if study abroad is not a required part of your degree program. This scheme is encouraged through interuniversity co-operation arrangements. You can take part in the Erasmus Program after successfully completing your first year at your home institution. You can spend between 3 to 12 months studying at one of our partner institutions in another European Union country. This period of study will be fully credited towards your final degree, through the use of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). To be eligible to participate you need to be a citizen of one of the following Eu member states: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Malta, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania. TuiTiOn FEES You do not pay any tuition fees to the university you are visiting. Tuition fees are paid as normal to your home institution. For instance, a student from European University Cyprus, who takes three courses during his or her Erasmus period of study abroad, will only pay the equivalent fees for those three courses at European University Cyprus.

STudEnT MOBiliTy grAnT Erasmus student mobility grants are intended to contribute to the additional costs of studying abroad. They are not intended to cover the full costs of study abroad. The grant is allocated by the European Commission in Brussels and distributed to each country's Erasmus Central Office. For Cyprus, this is the Foundation for the Management of the Lifelong Learning Program based in the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. From there, the money is then distributed to each participating university in Cyprus. The amount of grant given to each student varies in accordance to the student’s destinations. accommoDation

European University Cyprus has five new modern buildings located only minutes from the university to meet the increasing housing needs of students. The buildings consist of one, two and three bedroom apartments. The cost of accomodation ranges from €225-€525 per student per month, depending on the housing unit you choose. Every apartment has its own living and dining area, kitchen and bedroom and it is fully furnished with single beds, side tables, desks, wardrobes, armchairs, dining table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, oven and a refrigerator. Central heating is available, however, both central heating and utility bills (water and electricity) are payable by the students.

If you do not want to live in university accommodation you can apply to the Office of Student Affairs for listings of off-campus housing. Private accommodation can only be arranged when you are already in Cyprus. The cost of a furnished apartment can range from €550-€700 per month. You will need to sign a 12-month contract and in addition to the monthly rent there will be added charges for water, electricity and telephone expenses.
