Hiram College’s Center for the Study of Nature and Society Presents
“The History of Climate Science and Climate Science Denial”
Eric Schreiber, M.D. Staff Radiologist at the Cleveland Clinic & Adjunct Faculty, Environmental Studies, Hiram College Basic concepts of climate science were being explored 150 years ago, and basic physical and chemical principles of global warming have been accepted in the main-stream scientific literature for over 100 years. Climate science denial, as we know it today, began with a small group of famous physicists in the mid 1980’s who used their reputations and influence to prevent any government intervention in energy policy. Dr. Schreiber will discuss the history of the well established science, and how the application of that science has been influenced by politics.
