POETRY FOUNDATION For this project, we were assigned one of three sites in the historic “Over the Rhine� community. We were asked to design a poetry foundation while keeping in mind the climactic conditions as well as the community the site was located in.

POETICS OF PLACE This assignment challenged us to see architecture in a poetic sense through focusing on the experiential qualities of our spaces and how users would travel through the building in its entirety.

MASHRABIYA This assignment asked us to select a mashrabiya (a traditional Arabic lightscreen) and minipulate the pattern to create a new patterm. The next step was to apply the newly designed pattern in a modern way.

CUBE STUDIES This assignment explored basic design elements such as line, plane, and volume. Each study asked us to create a composition that would fill out a theoretical 12” x 12” x 12” cube.

FOLLY Through the use of 2” x 4” planks, sheets of OSB and one white material of our choice, a team of nine was asked to construct a structure that filled out a theoretical 8’ x 8’ x 8’ box where users could sit and walk through the space.

General laborer at a construction site; helped to ensure that proper safety procedures were obeyed, maintained a clean jobsite, and assisted other trade subcontractors with the execution of work

VOLUNTEERING

Eagle Scout Award earned in April 2013; attended over 30 hikes and earned 34 merit badges (13 more than the 21 required for Eagle); Eagle Scout project entailed planning, designing, and leading a team of scouts and dads to construct a shelter facility at the playground of a homeless shelter (raised over $5,000 for building materials, tools, and building permits)
