POETRY FOUNDATION For this project, we were assigned one of three sites in the historic “Over the Rhine community. We were asked to design a poetry foundation while keeping in mind the climactic conditions as well as the community the site was located in.

POETICS OF PLACE This assignment challenged us to see architecture in a poetic sense through focusing on the experiential qualities of our spaces and how users would travel through the building in its entirety.
MASHRABIYA This assignment asked us to select a mashrabiya (a traditional Arabic lightscreen) and minipulate the pattern to create a new patterm. The next step was to apply the newly designed pattern in a modern way.
CUBE STUDIES This assignment explored basic design elements such as line, plane, and volume. Each study asked us to create a composition that would fill out a theoretical 12” x 12” x 12” cube.
FOLLY Through the use of 2” x 4” planks, sheets of OSB and one white material of our choice, a team of nine was asked to construct a structure that filled out a theoretical 8’ x 8’ x 8’ box where users could sit and walk through the space.
