South Ostrobothnia, where is it? Our province is located almost in the middle of Finland. You can recognise us from large open expanses, clean nature and urban conurbations. Our largest city is Seinäjoki. You can reach Seinäjoki by train from Helsinki in 3 hours, from Oulu by car in 4 hours, and from Umeå, Sweden, by ferry + car in 5½ hours. Seinäjoki is located at an intersection of Finnish traffic routes, and is an easy hub for travelling to various destinations in our province. Distances here are short – you won't have to waste your time stucked in traffic. You can also use trains and buses. South Ostrobothnia hosts events all year round. You can enjoy our cultural programme, sport, festivals, comfortable accommodation and locally produced food. Our province is especially suited for families: the best amusement park in Finland, the largest department store, a wonderful animal park, an indoor activity park offering fun-packed and dynamic activities, a family spa and several other services guarantee that you entire family will have the time of their life. In the birth province of Alvar Aalto, an internationally renowned architect, you can also walk in his footsteps and get to know the unique buildings he designed. Adventures await you both in the city and in nearby nature! Welcome!
